For the amount that they charge, they should be personally coming to my house to separate the recycling that they won’t take if it’s not absolutely 100% to their spec. They’re out of control and should have competition. Ridiculous and infuriating.
I read some complaints…which I am sure have substance but my experience, 30 years worth in Tiburon, has been very good…not an easy job and I want to commend the guys on job well done…keep it up and thank you

One of the worst organizations I deal with. Terribly mean customer service. Unpleasant and not service oriented – you would think that the City of Mill Valley would reconsider their contract because they are so difficult to deal with.
To custom service: Lecturing me on what I should have done in the past does not help solve a current problem. I am a customer. You are providing services for a fee. Please remember that.

Their office staff used to be very nice. A recent call told me that she has retired. The current ones are not polite. If there is any issues, it is because the customer was wrong.
But the truck drivers are nice.

The few times I have called for missed service they are beyond aggressive. Today, the service rep accused me of lying. All this passion over a missed trash can? Flat out horrible customer service and this behavior has to be condoned by the owner – because I know I am not the only one who feels abused.
Update: While MV Refuse consistently fails to pick up paper and cardboard recycling in Belvedere, Gene, one of the owners, contacted me promptly after I emailed him and had our paper recycling picked up the next day. Still, it shouldn’t be necessary to call the owner just to get the service that we are paying for.
This company has bad systems, bad support, is extremely expensive and they have a monopoly on trash and recycling. It’s time to build a consortium of Mill Valley residents to find and invite competing services. This company should not have a monopoly on services in Mill Valley!
