Moda health has helped my son and I greatly by recognizing (based on our activity in their system) that we needed extra help during a particularly difficult time. They provided us with a personal contact to help manage the event and keep costs down. Thank you very much Moda health!
A couple of years ago they refused to pay for a standard breast health screen. When I attempted to appeal their decision, they didn’t take a second look but just kept telling me it has already been reviewed once. They kept kicking the can …
Awful. Just awful. The worst entity I have ever delt with. Avoid like the plague, because even if you had the plague, they would find a way out of providing for you.
This company has been extremely difficult to deal with in not paying claims for an out of state patient. After all info was sent for the auth process it was still denied…
I attended the Health Equity lecture presented by Dr. David Williams at Marantha Church sponsored, in part, by Moda Health. It was awesomely amazing! Thank you!!
Not customer service oriented, made-up insurance jargon thrives here as an excuse to why their bills never match the quotes provided or your EOB. Highly discourage.
Every time I have called to get a breakdown of dental benefits for patients, they have been nothing short of amazing to deal with. Thanks for being so great guys!
The WORST insurance company. Prices rise, deductables rise and their coverage SHRINKS. They refuse to pay for anything. Last I heard, they were going under-good riddance
Rip off artist at it’s finest! They make up false information to get out of covering you. Be prepared for the fight of your life if you plan on getting any kind of coverage through them.
Called several times. The answers from them make no sense. Then it was just me on the phone, couldn’t hear the representatives. No call back from them. EVERY TIME. Bad service.
If I could give them ZERO stars I would.
Unreal these folks would deny me for something as simple as ALLERGY medicine…They should be ashamed at what they doing and I WISH I could get away from these guys but since my wife is a TEACHER this is how we are treated.. WORST.COMPANY.EVER
Lisa Steves called our company being very rude and demanding things that are HIPPA regulated and became very unprofessional once being told that the patient would need to call in so that we can schedule the delivery of the equipment.
I wish I could give zero stars. This insurance is absolute trash, the customer service is awful!!!! After my fifth call I asked to talk to a supervisor and she was awful at her job and at answering questions. Please don’t waste your time on this insurance
difficult company to work with. they take forever on decisions, are stingy with payouts, and have some kind of awful computer system such that their agents are always confused about which claims have been filed, and when. pretty bad.
Junk! Over priced and because of the traitor in chief’s continuing raping of America, none of the doctors will take new patients. Barry sorento and this company suck! 356 more days and then at least, we will be rid of one disaster.
When I come in to make a payment the young lady is always polite and give great service. Because of her kindness it’s easier to depart with my money. 😁 …
I missed one monthly payment, because I didn’t have stamps, and they canceled my own and my wife’s health insurance, even though I had been on the phone with them telling them what happened and that a check was coming. Who does that? This is medical insurance!
I got my new Moda cards in the mail. I tried to sign-in to my account and I was not accepted. Moda said my e-mail address is not correct, but the rest of the world accepts my e-mail address. I want access to my account.
Hello MODA,
MODA, you were great. I didn’t know what I had when I had your plan. Even at twice the price, you would have been better than K. Now I know I accepted that job …
Absolutely the worst! Say things are covered, then they bill you as out of network, when it was in network. Customer service is a joke. I’ve called about 10 times and they say the same as the person before, oh that needs to get resubmitted. But it never does. I have tons of bills for what they said would be covered, but they are not.
Tried to refer a patient for an MRI and have spent 50 minutes on the phone in an attempt to find a facility that take MODA health. During this time, I was on hold with customer “service” waiting for someone to pick up. This is the worst customer service-ever!
I have found that every time I talk with Moda that I am provided with a professional courteous experience and they do answer my questions as best as they can.
Webpage is crappy. In-network provider feature does not work well. Waste hours every time I try to find an in network provider. Customer support aware of issues but nothing is done. Coverage wise- they are stingy. If you are a heavier user …
So because I buy my own insurance I’m stuck with crappy insurance. WTH a 12 month waiting period even for emergency dental?!
Find different coverage. Find different providers. Don’t let them have a single dollar.
Worst insurance I’ve ever had! I started working at OHSU and thought I got the best plan–what a JOKE! Coming from the Kaiser insurance system where everything was like 5 bucks, I’m now paying crazy amounts of deductibles. This insurance BLOWS.
So happy to be on MODA and able to get care for my epilepsy at OHSU, which has hooked me up with an awesome nurse who I talk to (at least) once a week and a main neurologist. It has been decided that most likely I will be needing surgery …
I don’t usually write reviews like this, but I couldn’t hold it back anymore. The customer service representatives on the phone know nothing. If you want a problem solved the only thing they can do is send an email to their manager. Most …
Moda is challenging to work with both as a customer and potential employee. They have one of the absolute worst job application system and process. Please, get your system up to date with 2019. There is NO reason an applicant should have to …
Awful plan – $300 a month. Said I would have access to wider range of doctors. But none of my top 8 primary care doctor choices were taking patients. Finally found a good primary care doc, but after wasting six weeks. None of their …
Nice customer service staff, but zero follow through. Our family dealt with numerous issues from incorrect data entry errors on my children’s accounts to formulary prescription coverage. Thankful to get to choose a different insurance company every year.
2nd yr with this plan, but first time needing urgent care and the only options are equiv to “bob’s clinic” (no, not zoom, that would be great)… these get really bad reviews on Yelp/Google… Not only about wait times which isn’t my …
You will end up without health insurance if you buy from this company. There’s a reason it’s cheaper to buy a bronze plan from moda than from providence. They’re starting to kick people off of their health insurance plans because the …
Customer service has been friendly, but actually getting anything resolved has been a nightmare. I’ve been trying to get psoriasis medication since September 26th and as of November 18th still have not received it. They tell me my …
Terrible insurance I wish I could give them a zero rating. I’ve had moda for many years and the deductibles continue to go up. My deductible is $2000 for in network providers and $4000 for out of network. Also, it’s becoming difficult to find any in network providers.
Don’t expect to be reimbursed in a timely manner for services they cover. Went to Costco to get contacts and submitted for reimbursement. Was told I would be reimbursed within 30 days, now it’s going on 60 days and no money. …
Bait and Switch. Approved a surgery and on the night before surgery they decided they wanted $30,000 up front. Filed a complaint. They may be fined for lying. Zero customer support. Hung up on us twice. Too expensive for a shoddy health plan. Terrible people. Wish they were not allowed in Oregon.
Absolutely horrible. Customer service tells you claims are fixed, then screws them up, doesn’t tell you that issue is never actually resolved, then when you try to get it solved, they tell you there is nothing they can do. Never felt so …
Time to renew. Time to avoid MODA!!!! Moda health gives me a Primary Care Physician in Silverton who is covered in plan but when he sends me to the Silverton Hospital across the street (I walk), I am no longer covered. How does that make …
had dental insurance through them, everything was recently ok until the start of the year when their preferred service became only available on group plans.. except they didn’t tell anyone! so i paid my money.. went to my regular dentist of …
It is totally misleading. There is a list of providers. Several. They say accepting new patients but good luck with that. Info not up to date. Three were in an Urgent Care Clinic situation. They can’t be your primary care provider. …
I chose Moda’s health plan off the Marketplace for this year’s coverage. I could not be more disappointed. Not only are they slow to respond to any kind of request, whether by phone (minimum 30 minute hold times the three times I’ve …
Very nice people. But like another comment no one could fix the fact that MODA withdrew over $1500. from my account which was closed and a month later they still can’t reimburse me for their error. I’m thankful other bills didn’t default …
Moda is the worst! I just found out at 6 months pregnant that they don’t cover the hospital that I was going to give birth at. How does it make sense to cover my providers but not the hospital that they work out of? Now I have to find all …
I was severely ill for the first several months of this year. I thought my premiums were on auto-pay, but was mistaken. MODA cancelled me. I understand that. What I don’t understand is that their reinstatement protocol specifically lists …
Yay my wife is pregnant… Moda sent my wife a letter saying it could cost us $15,000 out of pocket even though our out of pocket max is $1,600 and on top of that we have to pay an extra $100 a month. Or we can have an elective abortion for …
This insurance is garbage… $335 dollars a month for a healthy 25 year old male. Then on top of that the few medications prescribed my my doctor have needed a prior authorization. Going through the reimbursement process has been a joke… …
Absolutely garbage support, website, UI, and communication skills. Canceled me without notice after a bank issue led to late payment and it took two weeks to get back on. Just woke up this morning to see they’re still charging me for this …
Have dealt with Moda as a patient and a provider, they do not do their jobs of reimbursing the people they should, their customer service is atrocious, and they take no responsibility for their poor work ethic. I would not recommend this company to anyone.
I picked Moda because my provider likes working with them. The company was pretty accommodating to my needs until last month. That’s when they jerked me around for THREE WEEKS about a premium payment. Apparently, you can’t talk to billing …
I have never had a problem with approval or payment of my numerous hospital stays, doctor (mostly specialists) payments. Most of my specialists are at OHSU. Guess my doctors are smart and know how to file the paperwork. I have had …
Literally have fought to get them to take my premium payments. That’s right….. it is nearly impossible to pay these people and customer service, you’ve got a 2/10 shot of getting someone that knows what they’re talking about and is …
Great customer service people. The absolute worst insurance company ever! They are constantly trying to scam out of paying for anything. Every doctor’s office already knows…they tell me they just have to resubmit the paperwork over and …
I was disappointed in Moda. I pay extra from my paycheck each month to have Moda insurance instead of Kaiser, but they arbitrarily denied treatment that my well respected OHSU specialist says I need, while costing themselves and me extra $$ …
Denied my prescriptions because I went to walgreens, as if I was supposed to know they wouldn’t accept walgreens as a pharmacy. I paid out of pocket and then moda wouldn’t cover the costs even though I provided every piece of information, …
If you can avoid it…don’t switch to Moda for medical insurance. So far they’ve fought me on pretty much everything. Today I found that they won’t cover my asthma inhaler that I’ve been using for years. That doesn’t make any sense b/c I …
Edit: Moda has made things even worse. They have now incorrectly cancelled my insurance while i am 5 months pregnant and i cannot receive the care that I need because of this. No pregnant woman should have to deal with something like this, …
Very disappointed with the due process to get a very needed diagnostic scan approved. I am told to get a ct scan that Moda has to do a clinical review that can take up to an additional 7 days after already waiting 3 days. I have had a …

After following up on my reviews, MODA and Legacy were able to fix the billing and have my services paid fully. I appreciate them following up and looking into …
Very sneaky when it comes to coverage and providers. Need to have a surgery done and because of COVID ORs are booked out for months for non emergency surgeries. My Dr submitted a request to perform the surgery in a private OR and Moda …
I previously lived in Los Angeles and used Blue Cross Blue Shield. What a difference.. I paid almost nothing for my preventative visits, never had any issues. I’ve had nothing but problems with Moda. And for honestly the simplest things …
I just had the best customer experience with Cody. He should be a therapist… I had a bill I didn’t agree with and he talked me down the ledge. I’ve worked in customer service for 10 years before I got into my current profession, and I can feel when I’m getting quality service. This man deserves a raise! Seriously though, kudos to Cody!
I have had Moda for several years and they messed my bills up so bad I owe a fortune now. and they do not take blame for anything. Horrible company I would never go through them again. I would rather have no insurance then Moda.
Suddenly I need my doctors approval to fill prescriptions I have taken for years? I have made three trips to his office but they still refuse to pay for it.
MODA is not an honorable company. Customer service strings you along for months on medical bills they are responsible for. A culture of “lets make this so hard on our policy holders that they give up and just pay it themselves” exists …
I chose the best plan available so I would not have a high deductible, but I ended up being reimbursed for a high deductible plan regardless because I didn’t log in a assign my in network PCP. I purposely looked up and chose to go to an in …
Thank you, Moda Health for all you have done for me and my family during the time that I was a member of Moda Health.
I was able to meet my health goals and feel that I received the very best care …
I have been “insured” with them for 8 years and had to call upon them for assistance for the first time only to be read a script and left to my own devices. Their customer service is as good as reading their webpage. Good luck figuring out your coverage for yourself.
Their customer service is terrible; they charged me for my entire premium after I had already canceled coverage and I have called about 6 times trying to get them to credit my card for this charge and almost a month later and it still …
Not helpful at all called customer service and tried to reinstate two accounts I made online I had information on both account for me and my husband I was making the monthly payments I submitted to everything they needed and I had full …
My wife has cancer. WE had Moda through ACA (Obamacare). I cannot say enough good things about this company and their staff. Through nearly $1m dollars of surgery, radiation, immunotherapy and so much more , there was never and argument …
I have a had a horrible time with this insurance company and find their customer service a perfect example of what is broken in this country’s health care system (they use the method of wearing people out so they will just end up paying). I …
Every time I go to log on to my health the login has changed. I record logins and passwords in a file. They dropped all the uppercase letters to lower case this last time. I don’t even know why I bother to log on anyway. There is no record of office visits or lab results or anything. It’s all generic BS.
Customer service is hit or miss. Today it was a large miss. I’m not sure what people don’t understand about customer service and how to provide it correctly. It’s pretty simple: be kind and answer questions to the best of your knowledge. If you can’t do so, find someone who can.
Got bit by a dog March 2021, covered individually and through my wife’s family plan, both through Moda. Told everything covered and paid. September of 2022 receive $500 bill because Moda decided to take back 50% of their payment. They’re just as worthless and a scam as everyone says they are. Find someone else if you can.
Have tried for four months to get RX reimbursement with no success. Moda canceled CVS contract but was unaware of this and needed rx in CA. The charges are valid and would’ve been covered at other pharmacies but they keep giving me the …

One word — GHETTO.
If you are ready to fight on the phone for hours you may very well receive adequate medical care.
I love Moda.
They are a client
SATAN WALKS WITHIN THESE HALLS
Good
So expense! Bad benefits! Poor customer service!
No help at all came from Moda
Garbage… overpriced and do can literally NOTHING if you need help
Ok
So expensive I finally had to decide to drop it to get my life back.
Truly Satan’s Reincarnate
Update: Still feel resentment
Answered my questions, they had information I needed.
Having a hard time finding primary care Doctor in my area.
Great insurance never had a problem
Honestly there’s no point in having them, they just refuse to pay for anything they can find fault with.
They bought moda center with low income people insurance ohp. SHAME ON THEM. CROOKS
Try to call them for the past month. A recorded message will tell you to visit their website. What a joke.
I wrote such a long review & it erased it! Read the fine print.
Good insurance for dental. Website on mobile needs improvement
I work here so I love it. ❤️
Clean, refreshing, organized, proficient is all I need to say
Terrible
I had trouble with the terms use in dirctions
Very helpful and efficient on the phone. Sorted everything out in only a few minutes. Good job!
terrible company, MODA got seized by the state last year and will completely dissolve the end of this year
Absolutely worthless customer service. Nice people, but zero ability to solve problems and hours wasted on the phone.
Great place! Couldn’t say enough good things about this company! Customer service is spot on!
Would not go for this insurance, if it wasn’t for the Trail Blazers, this company would be nothing.
Awful. Just awful. The worst entity I have ever delt with. Avoid like the plague, because even if you had the plague, they would find a way out of providing for you.

This company is an absolute joke! I recommend anyone looking for medical insurance coverage run as far away as possible from Moda Health.
The charges are valid and would’ve been covered at other pharmacies but they keep giving me the …
Worst experience ever on the phone. Us repeatedly calling back and never a call back, as promised, from them. We tried to cancel on the first, but we’re charged anyway on the 3rd and the following month as well. Never any resolution, and …
Should be zero! Here is what web sight said, “
As a PEBB Moda Health member, you’ll also enjoy all the benefits that come with coordinated care, which include having your own PCP 360. A PCP 360 is a …
