Worst light company in South Carolina they are too high and they don’t work with you at all they just cut you lights off whether it 10 degrees or 100 degrees SMH horrible
DPU is a is a rip off… They don’t work with anyone. I really wish SCE&G was in our county. Every Christmas our lights go up like we go and view them lights in the gardens. Wish it gets better for the county.
I feel as if DPU is robbing the people of Orangeburg ..very greedy, inconsiderate and aggravating company. I’m praying that we get a new light company ASAP. Im sick of them adding hidden fees and over charging us for services. My light bill should not be changing so extremely from month to month when we aren’t changing our usage.
Just to start new service cost over $700 based on a previous customers usage.. Not based on my credit or anything of that nature, but based on what someone else had used prior to me relocating there. That is ridiculous!!!!
I have been trying to get through to DPU all day! They will NOT answer the phone. I’m put on hold every time!! Left a voicemail at 10am this morning, it is currently almost 5pm and still NOTHING!! I’ve tried multiple times. HORRIBLE customer service!!

The absolute worst when it comes to customer service and call backs. Why have a receptionist who is isn’t able to handle calls for accounts as well. The frustration is unbearable. And although they may be cheaper than SCE&G, they’re customer service is very poor.
Our power will always go out during a strom. DPU does not fix anything. They lie to their customers. They are part of reason why you shouldn’t live in Orangeburg. BTW DPU please our power

Is it legal to adjust the price of the SMALL general service charge each month? This month my charge was $130.96. My bill totaled 419.23. Nov/ 2020 my service my SMALL general service charge was $33.58. My total electric bill was 74.86. As many customers as they have why is there not a set price?
