Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency Reviews ( 65 )

  1. Suppose to make home ownership easier for low income and/or first time buyers but there is not much support around foreclosure/homeless prevention in the event of income loss. Allowed a one time forbearance, otherwise if u experience income …

  2. Some of the counselors are rude and short with you when you ask questions, some of the questions are intrusive and personal in nature, ex: do you drink or smoke? How that is relevant to purchasing power is beyond me.

  3. This so called business doesn’t deserve to be in business. They don’t even deserve 1 star.
I will be refinancing asap…and customer service is the worst..This place should be shut down and reported to the BBB.

  4. The customer service is extremely rude. They don’t value the people who wanted to contact them. Always getting irritated with people’s phone calls during the pandemic. Very unprofessional!!!!!!

  5. Terrible service. I have been calling since last week and they are experiencing phone outages. Finally get through this morning and was told to hold and was sent to voicemail each time by 2 different reps. May still be glitches from the outage but an outage for a week is just unacceptable.

  6. If you have a loan through them and need questions answered prepare to be treated with rudeness and disrespect at the other end of the phone line. Glad I have my house loan sucks I have to talk to these terrible humans about it

  7. This review is only in regards to customer service. Everything has been great for the past 10 years and now I’ve been trying to call and it sends you to a voicemail. I use to call and get a person instantly. This is ridiculous and unprofessional.

  8. Why are you reporting late payments to the credit bureau? What a great way in ruining everyone’s credit scores right now! I guess it was ‘my’ fault I lost my job and not covid’s what a joke worse company ever!

  9. Don’t use them, just don’t. I got divorced 2 years ago and my name is still on the property – every time I try to call them back I get transferred to a mailbox that is full. This establishment needs to be overthrown – this is unacceptable

  10. While everyone else is helping out their customers during COVID-19 times these guys are opposite. Instead of caring for their customers in need they turn their back! I have deferred payments on almost everything but my home loan . Emberassing

  11. Typical state government. It’s senseless to get angry. They want very good benefits and salaries with as little work as possible! Those who don’t care about job except where is my paychecks I guess it attracts people with those expectations.

  12. Terrible customer service who passed me around to 4 different people and were condescending until I put my husband on the phone. They have overcharged us by more than $500 and no one seems to be able to access our history to see what has already been paid. We will be reporting to BBB if our issue is not resolved asap.

  13. I have been trying to contact them to get an account set up with the new system and no one answers or calls back. My payment was due 10 days ago and still can’t get through. I am beyond angry and would not recommend them to anyone!!!

  14. They have rendered my buyers homeless after a week of pushing papers around and waits until3 days past our closing that we need to make repairs. When this could have been communicated early in the week when other issues where being addressed

  15. There should be more empathy displayed in this time of crisis. It doesnt make sense for PHFA to offer a forbearance giving the option to have to pay a total 3 months of payments after a customer isnt able to pay. This is not forward …

  16. I have Phfa since 2011 I haven’t got any problems with them. I even refinance and I’m 1% can’t have it better than this. However I do have a question Why you change the website I don’t like it at all the previous system I could see my …

  24. I was able to get through so I am updating this review. Up until this point (2012-2019), PHFA provided a great loan experience. While they have some opportunities with change management, thus far they have been a good organization to …

  25. They switched systems September 3rd requiring you to setup a new account in which you need your loan number. However I get paperless billing which means they send you an email monthly telling you to log in and view your account. So how am I …

  28. Phfa has been an adventure to say the least. My ex fiance destroyed my home on and off for a year, and has been gone from the home now for 3 years. PHFA is doing nothing to help me remove this person. Also in the midst of all of this my …

  29. I’ve been with PHFA for 20 years and I can honestly say that I’ve never had any trouble with them. They’ve never sold my mortgage, which is how I came to them in he first place. They’ve been professional and helpful. …

  30. PHFA has been my lender for the last 15 years and I’ve seen very few advances of self-service options, i.e. still no APP. They switch to a new website every few years making users go through a grooling registration process only to find it …

  35. pretty terrible company to work with. Half the time none of the employees have any idea what they are talking about, or you get different answers for everyone you talk to. They are also very unwilling to help no matter what your situation is.

  36. PHFA loan programs have helped me save thousands for my clients over the last 12 years. But more importantly have made home-ownership more attainable with the second mortgages to help the buyers with closing costs. …

  37. Literally the worst customer service I’ve ever encountered. One customer service rep actually hung up on me and didn’t enter any notes for the next person to take care of me. I assume he didn’t enter any notes so he wouldn’t get caught when …

  38. Awful. Since they began working from home no one does anything. Good luck even getting through via phone. When I was able to speak to someone they sounded greatly bothered by me needing assistance. I needed a payoff statement and that never …

  39. Working from home is not working for the company or they just have too many new people who were not trained. I did not have any problems for over 10 years but these last two, my account has been messed up several times and you can’t get through to a supervisor.

  40. I received multiple calls about a late payment (by a very rude lady). So I continue to check my bank account and it said it was paid. On my end my bank statement said it was. Then called and talk to a gentleman who was having trouble …
