I love being part of a Co-op! The company has it’s members interest as their main focus. Piedmont Electric has always been very responsive with any power outages and continues to provide information about saving electricity. I hope to continue having my electric provided by them for many years.
This company is awful we loose power in carrboro plaza every time it rains a little tonight was the worst they’re was a little wind and we lost power bad bad bad
Only called to inquire about new service. Sadly they took the excitement right out of moving. I already feel this to be a bad experience. Ill provide updates
Horrible customer service operater !!! They are rude and grouchy. You get a feeling like they don’t even want to talk or help you. I am so upstet we got stuck with them.
Seems like anytime there is some rain and a little wind, the lights go out. Today the lights went out at about 7:15 pm and I am still in the dark at 11:39pm.

Piedmont Electric provides horrible service… Everytime there is a raindrop, the power goes out! I’ve never seen anything like it except in 3rd world countries. The infrastructure is extremely poor!
I’ve been serviced by Piedmont Electric for over 15 years. I’ve had and have no matter complaints or concerns. My questions were handled with courtesy and professionalism.
DISGUSTING customer service at all locations. I was highly insulted after speaking with some from the offices in Burlington and then I was hung up during my request for someone to read my meter in person due to overages. They don’t have 1 …
Appear to underinvest in their infrastructure and staff. If you are west of Carrboro on 54 and there is a power cut, you will be last to come back on when literally everyone around you has power back. With bad weather increasing, I don’t trust them to reliably provide power.
How can this place still be in business and have such HORRIBLE customer service? I have still all over and never dealt with problems like I do here. Twice now my lights have been shut off after I paid what it said on my account. This past …
PEMC is the best, always working to improve keeping our power up and when we do lose power they work extremely hard and fast to get our power up. I rate PEMC a well deserve 5 stars
Power is expensive. Unable to sign in to the website in order to set up auto pay and check account services. The website simply does not work. Tried various computers and internet connections. Sign in is broken. Therefore I have to use the awful phone tree to pay account.
In the 16 years we have had Piedmont, I can count on 1 hand the number of service interruptions. Meanwhile, neighbors with Duke power loose service quite frequently. Very pleased!
Pretty terrible, more expensive than Duke energy. Will hound you if you do the prepaid option. I spend ~120 a month on electricity for a small apartment that’s fairly new. Won’t rent an apartment with them as the sole utility provider again.
Our power is highly inconsistent, (flickering lights, power outages are regular) extremely expensive (I’ve never, never paid $165 per month for electricity), and Piedmont is a miserable company to deal with. I will be very glad to move out of Orange County because of them.
Very expensive. Asks you to contribute financially to a green program but it doesn’t help your bill. Customer service is horrible. This morning a rep was very unwilling to help and didn’t believe I was having the issue I reported. It was …

Increasing your facilities charge to $40 a month harms farmers who often have multiple meters for agricultural equipment. Please adjust this practice of overbilling for reading a meter and charge for actual power used. Or at least offer agricultural rates!
This is the first 1-star review I have ever written, which should tell you something about how bad the service is from this company. Piedmont is hands down the worst electric company I have ever had. My electric bill was well over $200 this …
Way to go Piedmont Electric never had a problem with your company. Tree down along with power lines on Corbett Rd. Alamance County Oct. 29th you were right there. Power was restored Thank you first responders.
Wish I could choose no stars as this power company doesn’t deserve even that! They charge at least double what Duke charges, we lose power all the time for no reason. I have proof that they overcharged me for years at my previous address. …

PEMC has been the best experience I have ever had with a power company.
Consistent service, helpful employees, and the pre-paid bill has been so much less stressful. Kudos to PEMC, and thanks!

Piedmont Electric Coop has always been professional & reliable whenever handling power outages, handling advice on energy efficient HVAC systems & appliances, and most importantly in handling customer questions and service.
