Plumas-Sierra Rural Electric Cooperative was founded in 1937 to bring power to Plumas, Lassen, and Sierra counties. We are committed to improving the quality of life of our member-owners and our local communities. Prior to 1935, life in rural America generally started at sunrise and ended at sunset. Thats because nine out of 10 rural homes had no electric service. While it was technically possible to deliver electricity to rural areas, it was not deemed necessary or economically feasible by the power companies. Rural residents close to a power companys line were required to pay the full cost of connecting their homes to the system. In many cases, that fee was nearly twice the annual farm income. Once that initial investment was made, rural consumers discovered they would have to pay 10 to 12 cents a kilowatt-hour (kWh)double the rate for urban customers. In some cases, the charge was as high as 40 cents per kWh. That essentially ensured rural America remained in the dark. President Franklin D.

Great people. Very helpful
Moved to the area and been charged 600+ a month for electric and all I got is a RV it’s ridiculous I’ll be cancelling my service and going solar
Really nice people to work with kinda make you feel like family not just a account number
They have done a good job of keeping the power on and the costs down through all the wildfire chaos. Good job !!!!@
Had this electric utility for years, very helpful and responsive to their customers.
I’d have to say that out of all the spotty services I have tried in the area for internet here in portola, Plumas rural electric cooperatives Coax has been the best! Best price and best service, very helpful customer service as well, THANK YOU!
I called them because my power was out, and they sent some very nice technicians over very quickly.
Just had a fuse on a transformer go out on my property. Paul from psrec was out to my location and had the problem fixed right away. I have never had a power company be so prompt and professional. THANK YOU!!!!!
I get that people hate their ISP, but there are usually reasons for it. In the case of Plumas Sierra Telecommunications hatred doesn’t even come close to describing what I think of the ENTIRE COMPANY. …
Compared to 5 years ago its night and day. Big winter last year and they performed very well. NO OUTAGES!!! I started off with a 1 star review and it has moved up annually. The internet service offered is much BETTER than digital path.
My bill is extremely low. Unfortunately the extra monthly service fees sometimes more than bill each month.🥺 SolAr looking real gooD right now😜 …
They don’t give pertinent info during outages. Would be helpfully if we knew roughly how long outages would be so we can know weather yo fire up the Gemini or not.
