Presque Isle Electricity & Gas Cooperative Reviews ( 32 )
Worst electric company I’ve ever had. Their customer service and policies make absolutely no sense. They decided to just estimate my bill for me and when they finally checked my meter five months later (guess they don’t offer upgrades to …
Not the most compassionate people there..My father passed away and I went there to change the billing to my name ..he just passed not too long before and I was upset..I was not offered a tissue or I’m sorry ..even though my father has been a loyal customer with PI G&E..Also whoever answered the phone wasn’t very pleasant ..
Same weather every year, same outage’s every year. Just it time for Xmas too, nice overtime, funny how that works. It’s either in competence or graft the weather is the same year to year.
A 26 year customer, the service is the same. Way too many outages, particularly compared to Consumers Power customers. Trimming trees is obviously NOT a priority!
They say you have a stock in the company. Bullcrap. Fee to join, high rates, deposits. Monopoly. Can’t say I like the company!! Wish we had another option unfortunately we don’t.
Power outages are to be expected. When they do happen, they are fairly quick to fix them. My only issue is with their customer service reps. I’m tired of every time I call I get “sighs” from them, like I’m bothering them. Or, reactions to my questions or concerns as if I’m “dense or stupid”.
Unreasonably expensive. Customer service deflects your concern back to you. Online I can see my kilowatt usage, and the meter also shows temperature range. Well, the temperature range is from 70 in summer to 15 degrees during winter …
This is my 2nd cooperative, and both have been great. In areas of woods, wind, and icing outages are to be expected. Just have to be prepared…my kids love dining by candlelight or oil lamp. Even board games and reading become interesting!
Expensive fees that go up higher through the winter. Pay double what you actually use for gas an electric once the fees are added on. Paid an expensive security deposit an found out through landlord it wasn’t even necessary. Coincidently …
Good experience so far. The guy who came out early was on time and gave me plenty information. People in the office have been helpful as well and quick in sending out additional info and forms. Planning on moving forward with the project in spring and excited to see how it goes.
Tried calling numbers to change our service from my deceased mother in laws name
The person on the phone assisting us came up with fee, upon fee, upon fee. We …
Worst gas and electric company I have ever gone through. Terrible customer service they tell you that you have to be married to have someone else on the account. Then when its tax time you can’t use the home heating credit because it’s not …
Came home to an outage. Reported it and the juice was flowing inside of ten minutes. WOW!
They also publish a monthly newsletter with special interest stories and (of all …
We are at the extreme far west edge of their service area, in a heavily wooded area, so we installed a backup generator in case of outages. In 5 years the generator has run a total of 25 hours, which is 99.94% reliability. That deserves 5 stars. Customer service is polite and efficient.
I see corporate has a new building. It seems like every month, the power keeps going out. Maybe they could upgrade the system more, so we have less outages. Here we go again. No power again. With all the tree trimming, again no power on 4/14/22
Presque Isle Electric and gas PIE&G, operations and service, operates under a high moral code, most business’s in this country long forgot. I read my meter wrong,a customer service rep called me to ask if it was accurate,it wasnt and they …
I asked PIEG if they could cut down a tree in the front yard of our cabin property that was close to the power lines. I would have cut it down myself except it could possibly hit the power lines if it fell wrong. The next time we went to …
One star… for the simple fact our lights were on. But any electric company is responsible for that.
Customer service: Garbage! As you read in other reviews. They cut you off & talk …
Typically, I wouldn’t leave a one star review. There are many redeeming qualities of a company that has issues, and typically a one star review isn’t justified. In this case it is. In the midst of a windstorm, of which the PIE&G were aware …
Called because our power went out, saw a flash with it, very scary. They came out 20 minutes later and did a spot check. Power flickered, heard a pop this time. Called back to tell them about noise. They came right back within 5 minutes and stayed and figured it out. Way to go!
They say they are clearing trees along the power lines. However every year the first wind storm we have and Boom out of power. They blame weather but others just a mile away still have power while we’re left without. One time awhile back we didn’t have power for close to a week.
Woke up this morning too no power. With thin 15 min ok getting up I seen a truck on my road. It was a pie&g truck within in 10 min of being on the road the power was back on. You guys rock. Keep up the great work. Thanks!!!!!

Thank you for the power restoration in a timely matter in a blizzard. Thanks also to the linemen and women that keep us running. Merry Christmas
