Quartz Health Benefits Reviews ( 69 )

  1. This company is the reason my dad is dead. They can change the company name a hundred more times, I will always hate them and make sure everyone knows how horrible they are.

  2. Poor, arrogant customer relations, they change many processes without letting the customer know, dislike taking abuse from people I pay

  3. not the best insurance…a lot of people switched to Unity to be able to keep seeing UW physicians and sports medicine. I’m finding this wasn’t a good enough reason to switch.

  4. You better hope you never need mental health services if you’re in the Quartz Unity/UW network. After over 10 months of requesting services and being repeatedly turned down and told that “demand exceeds availability…” I requested approval …

  5. Their billing is so screwed up. They do not know how to do simply math they cant charge you the correct amount. They try to over charge and will not work with you when you explain that to them.

  6. Very disappointing about my premium plan features that are changed dramatically from 0 to $6K/$13K out of pocket and from $50″ deductible to $1500. I paid for most expensive option and doctors seem instructed not to let patient to do …

  7. I have always received good service from Unity and do not expect any different care going forward. I have noticed a couple of negative reviews and see no complaints specified.

  8. Billing department is terrible!!!! They dropped my policy because they never sent me a bill… I had called them and corrected them 3 times to get my bill sent to right place – they never fixed the problem! Needless to say I switched companies. Best thing I ever did!

  9. I was a long time Unity customer and was satisfied with everything. Quartz is a perfect example of how a company that doesn’t care about ANYTHING except the bottom line acts. The way they treat individually insured families is shameful. …

  10. Worst customer service ever! The woman wouldn’t even let me talk and interrupted or talked over everything I said. How can that even be customer service???

  11. According to Unity, special pediatric contacts for a 5 year old (to replace an eye lens that was removed due to cataracts) are not a “medical necessity”. In other words, it is not a medical necessity for a 5 year old to see (and have …

  12. Went to the doctor to be prescribed a preventive medication. Apparently the visit and tests weren’t considered the “right kind” of preventative and I had to pay the full costs, according to my back and forth calls between Unity and the hospital I visited, so that was fun.

  13. I read these reviews and though I would share my own experience. I have Quartz and have had nothing but great customer service. I even got a follow up call from a nurse who asked if i needed anything else and gave me a number to call with questions. I have been impressed so far.

  14. An absolute scam. These people profit off the sick and dying. They don’t cover anything, they are impossible to get ahold of, and they provide terrible service. You’re better off buying a piggy bank than doing business with Quartz Health.

  15. They take an asinine amount of time to receive script and prescription information and turn it into something usable for consumers. I have had to wait almost a month now to get CGM clearance because of their BS. Quartz is a joke. Stay as far away as possible.

  16. Hey thanks for deleting my last review. If I could give zero stars I would. Y’all over at the Unity have such amazing customer service that you’re so professional enough to never respond to the email I sent to the Vice President of …

  17. I looked at the ACA online stuff and was really not looking forward to switching AGAIN like I had every year so far. I called Quartz just to see what it would cost to keep what I had (Prohealth was excellent last year) and I was very happy …

  18. Bad insurance company. No coverage or limited coverage for someone who suffers with chronic illness. We pay ALOT of money for insurance, for what? For medically necessary medications to not be coveered or be so expensive people can’t afford …

  19. I had multiple doctors refer me to an “out of network” clinic/doctor because no one in-network specializes in my health concerns. Quartz has denied coverage over and over again despite the referrals and letters sent by multiple doctors.

  20. We have been using Unity for the last decade, and overall have had a positive experience. Within the last few years they have contracted with Chartwell who handles my diabetes medical supplies. Chartwell then uses Edgepark to deliver …

  23. It like working with the DMV, another Government Entity. I did a stop payment on my check because I found a different insurance company much cheaper in April of this year. Unity Health Insurance was notified that I was making a stop …

  24. If you have Type 1 Diabetes I would choose another insurance. Unity does nothing for prevention of long term problems, they deny access to Continuous Glucose Monitors, they are the only insurance plan that makes you submit blood sugars in …

  25. Why do partner with UW Health? UW won’t treat a patient as an individual, but as a number. No mask exemption for the horrible skin acne caused by mask for our son. When we advocated they threaten to shut down his mychart. We had to go …

  26. I’ve been a member of Prohealth Care Senior Preferred Elite for just over a year. I understand that Unity has bought them out. PCSPE has been a big disappointment. They are new to the Waukesha area and because they identified with ProHealth …

  27. Unity completely ignored my insurance request because they deemed it “not medically necessary”. Pretty weird, since that recommendation came from my primary care doctor and I’m not one to have medical procedures just for fun. …

  28. I was a client of Quartz for about 5.5 years. This year I was given incorrect information by their customer assistance that if I dropped the ACA I could keep my insurance and just pay it directly to quartz. I dropped the ACA and was …

  29. We have had care for my child denied and diagnosis and treatment delayed by years. They deny everything.. first saying they don’t have prior auth, then saying it has to come from someone else etc etc. It took 6 months to get out of …

  30. I had a dr send in for prior-authorization. Can’t find a dr in my network to deal with my diagnosis. He is the only one who will believe and help me. He tells me he was denied prior-authorization. No reason why. We pay high premiums for our …

  31. I have had a Quartz HMO plan for the past five years and LOVE the prompt professional service, approval of specialty meds, easy wellness reward reimbursement, procedure approval process. Have never had a billing issue. Thanks for the great service.

  32. My MD referred me to have a CT scan for symptoms I’ve had for a year. I’ve had other testing (under BCBS) which ruled out more benign causes, and this CT is necessary to rule out more serious diagnosis, but Quartz is denying the test, …

  33. Apparently, it isn’t medically necessary for my 8 year old with a broken arm to be seen sooner than 6 weeks from date of injury. (What’s that? It’ll have healed incorrectly by then and require further care? No kidding!) I went through your …

  34. They are not willing to help you understand any kind of questions you have at all. They told me to look in my documents and my question about an employees health insurance (THROUGH QUARTZ) is “not quartz problem”

  35. This organization is some kind of holding company for almost all the health care providers in Dane county. Their prices are outrageous. You get bills and they are not comprehensible. The charges are astronomical probably because they …

  36. I called and asked about which clinics I could go to for free. They told me that all Urgent Care centers were free. Well, I went to Urgent Care and BAM, I WAS CHARGED. Sent it to this insurance agency and they were confused on why I even …

  37. We just purchased Fitbit and Garmin watches to participate in their wellness program. These were purchased the Saturday after Christmas. We had everything sync and had rewards points. It is a very confusing system to get the rewards, …

  44. Quartz is one of the most garbage companies in Wisconsin. If you have an option between Quartz and any other insurance provider, choose any other insurance provider. Unethical company that hopefully goes out of business.

  45. Should get zero stars. My terrible experience with Quartz is unique to my situation just like everyone else who is sharing their low rating of this company. Therefore I won’t go into the gory details but suffice it to say you do not want to …

  46. Terrible coverage. Was told that an inhaler that was prescribed by my pulmonologist was not covered and that a different inhaler should be used. Was not as effective at preventive asthma care. One of the worst insurance coverage plans I have had to date. Have since quit.
