Rhode Island Hospital Reviews ( 234 )

  1. One of the worst hospitals around. From my personal experience with myself, Mom and husband this hospital is terrible. There is not enough space to write all the horrible problems.

  2. These specialists I have seen within the past few yrs have done testing and the testing did show abnormalities and problems which I have not received 1 treatment for. Do drs even look at past records that do show very low repeated antibody …

  4. Worse experience there been waiting for 4hrs plus one person waiting for longer just for a bed and another throwing up no one coming out to help her wait time is ridiculous here

  5. Incredibly rude people here. I was shocked after going for the first time. These people need to work somewhere that doesn’t involve other people’s health, because they clearly don’t care.

  6. Trama team did a nice job; but the after care in the room lacked hygiene (didn’t clean/care for my injury which got infected). The person next to me , along with all her other injuries, needed her finger stiched… It never happened!

  18. This is a hospital where ppl everyday comes here for different reasons tell me why the hospital is always short staffs. The waiting time to be seen here is beyond ridiculous there should be no reason for any patience to be sitting and waiting to be seen more than 4 or 6 hours.

  19. They got me waiting for more of two hours in emergency. I went because I got a big pain. Dehydrated. I asking for a blanket they said they don’t have. But when I went inside to room area they find blankets. These a joke

  20. It was a very bad experience would not recommend this ED my husband was in a car accident was transported there I was not allowed to come due to covid I called numerous times to find out what was going on first off I was put on hold for 20 …

  21. I didn’t enjoy anything about my visit here with my daughter. The nurse’s are rude, disrespectful and don’t know how to properly address a human being during a difficult time! Only go to this place if you have no other choice!!!!!!

  22. Heard a nurse say to a patient that she was happy to see her leave. Because the patient asked to talk to a doctor and was denied so the patient asked to be discharged and thats when the nurse said it.

  23. I had an icky outpatient procedure today that was made as pleasant as it could possibly be by the amazing staff at Rhode Island Hospital. The team of RNs and the surgeon, Dr. Fine, were all professional, competent and kind. Shout out to …

  24. Please go anywhere else honestly a vet would be better and more humane. Nurses are on a power trip and if you disagree with they they yell and call security all because I wanted to go home after 12 hrs of no help or answeres. Never Ever Ever go here seriously go to ct or ma this place is a death trap for low income ppl

  27. Worst hospital in Earth! Worst staff, doctors included!!!
If you want a hospital that gives you care and comfort NEVER go to RI Hospital… you might die while you’re waiting 45 minutes or 1 hour for a pain killer after surgery!

  28. If your a nurse in the emergency room you need to move on to plan E all of them are just worried about is talking about people I heard them bad mouthing so many people I sat there for 2 hrs and didn’t get seen after I told them I was having a azma attack like i don’t understand if you dont like your job quit

  29. Hate this place, have years of horror stories i could share, but most recent experience is they won’t allow food delivery for patients allergic to any of the food choices they offer, rudly turned away by both doctors and security staff

  30. 5 stars go to RIH’s Cancer Center. The care and compassion that these doctors, nurses, and entire staff offer and give is truly amazing…they are not only there for the patient but the patient’s family/loved ones as well.

  31. ER trauma is excellent don’t get me wrong….
But after care? Legit terrible. Worst I have ever seen. It’s like after they stitch you up. They throw you away like you don’t even matter.

  32. Concerning Party: Michael D. Mcquiggan. I went to Rhode Island Hospital on Aug 9th, 2016 to be seen for Chest pain and body pain. Next thing I know I am being placed in the mental ward; M. McQuiggan a fellowship student at Brown …

  33. This is the worst hospital to ever have to call on the phone. Every single person is absolutely miserable and if they feel like doing their job that day they may help you, otherwise they’ll just send you to some random extension. I hope I never end up in this hospital.

  34. it all depends on if your somebody or not. or if your related to someone important as to whether you get really good care. if you have no insurance and you have a serious medical condition they will just give the basics and send you out. if …

  35. Rude Service! Billing team is a mess! They’re not respectful at all. They need to retrain them on customer service skills. It’s not that hard to use your manners! Hope to NEVER in my life have to deal with these people again! HORRIFIC SERVICE!

  36. My mother has to call me in Ft Lauderdale to have me call the hospital to get assistance in her room. The staff is non attentive and couldn’t care less about their patients. I wouldn’t recommend this hospital if my life depended on it!

  37. Great hospital but it may cost you an arm and a leg depending on insurance… Not like a public hospital, it’s privately owned so billing is different I’ve found. Almost predatory if you lose track.

  38. Great People. My brother was on the 10th floor for a few days with an infection and Diana Chris and Jazmin his nurses were fabulous and the doctor and everyone was really nice and helpful and just very thourough! Top notch facility!

  39. The worst hospital in the world! I have never had a worse experience in my lifetime. The rudest people on earth work there including the doctors. I came in by ambulance to the hospital and they sat me back in the waiting area for hours …

  40. Should have stayed home and suffered instead of suffering in the waiting area for 3.5 hours. If you’re understaffed stop the mandate that are making your employees quit. Go to Kent

  41. Today my wife apparently didn’t have a nurse assigned to her so no one checked on her all day. Apparently the Medical Services don’t talk to each other as 1 service had her discharged yesterday,, today the admitting service was waiting to …

  42. Been here for 10 hrs. For an ekg and ultra sound results. Poor staff in ER. Only in the rm if you page them for something otherwise you are just forgotten about until the dr takes the hours needed to READ a test.

  43. I had to go here for a outpatient 24-hour procedure. Nice professional staff and so different from the last time I visited. They gotten so much bigger! I spent maybe 2 hours there and then returned the next day where I only had to wait about 15 minutes to complete the testing.

  44. There’s a R.N named Steve Pine that works in the Emergency Room @R.I Hospital. This man was very confrontational, and belittling towards me when I was in extreme pain and feeling very uncomfortable. Why are people so cold nowadays? Makes me 😥 …

  45. went in on a late sunday night, the place was not that busy. My father fell, had a gash in his eye and was incoherent after hiting his head. almost 5 hours, 3 rooms later we had not had a single person in our room. It took mulitple …

  46. Saved our son’s life after he died in auto accident. They worked very hard in putting up with a tough hard guy who is difficult to deal with. Great people who work tirelessly to save people. Thank you to the hero’s that work here.

  47. The front staff was friendly, but the wait time was awtrageous,I when there hope a doctor could see me,awaiting almost 3 hour, and still no see any Dr coming to check anyone was there al ready awaiting.50 people ready was there waiting. …

  48. The cafeteria is good and reasonably priced, and the care is pretty good. Ken the CNA and Charlene the RN on 10A are the best. I’d give more stars but the parking ticket machines always seemed to be broken, and the beds are not comfortable (but, they are hospital beds).

  49. I have never seen a hospital so unsanitary in my 24 years of life! The things I see that are happening in this hospital to me are totally unexcetable. I don’t know what’s worse a staff emptying bloody fluid in the bathroom or the fact that …

  50. Everyone hates ERs but that’s not my review. The overall hospital (nursing staff, food, attentiveness, attitude) at RI Hospital is first-rate. More specifically, the quality of care in the oncology ward (8th floor) is beyond compassionate …

  51. I wish i could give this a 0!!! The apc building aka neurology dept is a complete joke!!!!! My bf had surgery there and he left worse then when he came in!!! Went back there for 8 freaking months and nothing was done because the doctors …

  52. This place is sad. The Bridge was not great but better than the main hospital. If my daughter doesn’t get a bath and her hair washed soon. I am going to lose it. She had a stroke and has a bacteria in her blood they stuck her in a room with another person in a room made for one person. Too hot. Too small.

  53. Don’t expect medical care here. They’re all “practicing”, maybe someday they’ll get it right. They make “One Flew Over The Coo-coo’s Nest” seem like quality care. Go to Mexico to any store front clinic and you’ll do better. Or just smoke a joint – thats better “medical” advice.

  54. Absolute WORST hospital in the Universe!! The unhealthy environment of this hospital caused me to suffer from a chronic condition that has left me impaired from having a normal life!! For patients who have breathing problems — this is …

  55. Been here 5hrs now, my elderly mother who fell down a flight of stairs, was brought in by ambulance and still has not even been looked at!!!!! They won’t allow us inside or move her to another hospital. This place is a pitiful joke of a hospital, stay away from this place if at all possible!

  56. What’s there to say but scary!!!! Waited 45min for a Dr to see me! I have a strong cardiac history and I’m told to go sit in the waiting room multiple times. Is this good care? Dr was rude as well as the staff. All I can say is WOW!!!! If not brought back in soon I will leave and seek care elsewhere! Unacceptable care!

  57. Would give 0 stars if possible. Went in for severe abdominal pain and nausea on 4/27. They did CT scan, blood work, and ultrasound. Said nothing was wrong and discharged me. Pain got worse the next day so went back. At this point I had not …

  58. This hospital finally cured my affliction. I was but a poor man who transformed into a 10th grade history teacher. After leaving the hospital I found that I was back to my old ways. The old beautiful John Johnson I thought had been gone was …

  59. I was rushed there in critical condition…fighting for my life. I spend 7 weeks there between ICU , the 6th floor, then the 4th floor. I’ve never experienced such nasty people in my life…the nurses are rude and abusive…horrible care. Dont go there if you have the choice

  60. I was taken there Sunday because I was light headed. The staff didn’t tell me what tests they were doing and why. After 4 hours of no information, I left. My own PCP called me today and asked why I didn’t stay for the tests, I told him …

  61. Waited 45 minutes in line for just intake. 4 hours to be seen. Bathrooms in the ER were terrible- locks didn’t work, tp holder was held together with medical tape, and there were NO CHAIRS in the ER. Staff were not friendly and didn’t treat …

  62. My young niece (18 years old old) had a baby here and the nurses were very disrespectful to her, I understand shes a young mom, but she is a patient and nurses are there to help make patients comfortable, feel better. Not b demeaning I was …

  63. I dont know what reviewers expect. You come to the hospital for help. They are helping me. No rude behavior for most part. Good food not great and dont order eggs but I am here for their help to stay alive. So the food and attitudes of people really goes to the side as they have saved me. Thank you 10th floor RI Hospital.

  64. Danger, Will Robinson! This hospital has been sued so many times it’s absolutely ridiculous. Google RIH and lawsuits. Had I known that, my resounding and unmistakable answer to “We’d like to transfer you to RIH,” would have been, “Oh, …

  65. What a joke! I wanted to get my foot checked out because it’s been swollen. I went in and asked how long the wait was in the ER. I was told 6 hours. How can an Emergency Room have a 6 hour wait?!?! This place should not be in business if …

  67. I arrived in an ambulance and was forced to wait in the emergency room for 2 hours before a doctor would see me; all the while being poked and prodded by random doctors and nurses who neglected to make eye contact with me, introduce …

  68. Was thrown back out into the waiting room when I couldn’t walk straight. Nurse yelled at me for something I have no control over. Waited 5 hours and that’s how you treat someone with too much pressure in their head. Absolutely disgusting

  69. Based on a past experience (4 months ago)do not go to the ER except if you are on deaths door unless you want to wait for well over 6hrs. Spent over 24 hours waiting for a room to be admitted. The poor nurses had to run the information desk …

  70. Mixed experiences here. When an ER visit was needed a few years ago, we waited, and waited, and *WAITED* in the waiting room, until we just left and went to a different hospital. On the other hand, a relative of mine had a heart attack, and …

  71. Horrible service, the nurses and staff members do more walking and talking then assisting patients. Also the nurse assigned to my aunt’s room was very unpleasant and rude. I asked how she was doing and he gave me a quick 3 word response and walked away. This hospital needs to improve their service especially in the trauma unit.

  72. I went with my boyfriend to the er about a month ago for stomach pain. First time the didn’t find anything wrong. There was obviously something wrong if his pain was a 15 out of 10 and morphine was not helping him 4 days later they sent him …

  73. The trauma unit literally saved my life by getting me on a ventilator and doing emergency brain surgery. I was told I barely made it and if I were 1 .in later in getting there I wouldnt be here today. I was transferred y Kent which I …

  74. I was very impressed. I saw more doctors than I
Ever have. This hospital might be full for a reason and good reason. Iv never been so taken care of. I’m from Texas and this hospital is ten times better than any there. I am happy with his hospital

  75. Today, 8/27/2020, my daughter Megan R. was admitted to Hospital. My daughter is Chronically Ill with ESRD. She called her Sister for assistance with bringing personal items. Emily, arrived approached Christina at Ambulatory Services (APC) …

  76. I waited 11 hours in the ER. When I did get a room and explained to them what was going on, they just looked at me like I had 6 heads. Took me for chest x-rays on a stretcher and the tech had me walk back to my room myself. So I was sitting …

  77. Good service. Billing is is not. Hospital is in-network, but the physician is NOT! Even though you can’t choose your physician in the ER, it’s a hit and miss if the doctor you see is in your network. Hospitals should be responsible for …

  78. I really can’t thankyou enough for taking my boyfriend right away. He was seriously ill by the time we got to the ER this weekend. You all gave great care, listened and treated us like humans instead of just another sick person to push off …

  79. I went there for a suspected case of appendicitis. I waited 15 minutes to check in, 2 hours for a room, and another hour for the actual doctor to see me. I spent the day constantly waiting to be treated. My TV didn’t work and I was laying …

  80. This is an atrocious excuse of a hospital. I can only say about five people in this facility treated me as a human. I was forced to wait in your ambulance bay for an hour. Vitals were taken with out a word. Staff never introduced them …

  81. Father quite possibly had another stroke tonight but they refuse to see him even though he went by ambulance. These people want you to die. They take your money and watch you die.

  82. Absolutely horrendous parking for anyone with a leg injury. Also if you get hurt on the job and get sent here, immediately go to your own doctor as they do as little as possible for injuries on workmans comp. That’s the deal they made with the state. To do as little as possible.

  83. Disrespected my mother when she was very sick due to COVID she was so short of breath and low on energy they kept her in the lobby for 12 hours with no help whatsoever

  84. I just had a small object removed from my eye in the emergency room. The PA who removed it is outstanding at her job. She is true professional and very kind. All the staff were professional and compassionate. I was treated in a timely …

  85. Worst hospital if you’re not literally dying in a pool of blood you will wait for over 5 hours! Left iv tubes in my arm for over 2 hours in the waiting room. Just the worst, you try to ask for an update on your time. They give you attitude and just tell you to wait.

  86. Worst experience I’ve ever had at a hospital. Called the ambulance for my boyfriend at 11pm. I’m fairly sure he had alcohol poisoning; he was puking up blood, shivering, confused, in a lot of pain, crying, suffering. First off the staff in …

  87. Went via ambulance for back injury. I was in a ton of pain they wouldn’t do an mri , Icouldn’t walk or stand. Without figuring out what was wrong with me they kept giving me morphine until I could finally stand, just so they could get me …

  88. Not a very efficient operation in the Emergency Room, and the place is filthy. Good luck asking about your loved one when the information desk is staffed by security that isn’t authorized to look up patient info.

  89. I literally spent 10 hours in an ER waiting room before I left and decided to set-up an appointment at Urgent Care because I need to at least see a medical professional today because I think I have appendicitis.

  106. The staff were very helpful. They were polite and friendly, but not overly so, and didn’t waste time. They answered all my questions, and addressed all of my concerns, and at least one went out of her way to provide me with information that was extremely helpful to avoid the ER in the future.

  107. This hospital is poorly managed – administratively they appear inept and internal communication and communication with patient families is horrendous. We were warned about this but we needed a great neurosurgeon and we found Dr. Telfeian …

  108. Most disgusting place I’ve ever been to. Doctors and nurses are completely incompetent. Been here for a week, haven’t eaten in 3 days. Barely receive medication for my broken back and ribs. 121. You will wait for five hours while heroine addicts are wheeled in ahead of you. If you do finally give up and go to a different hospital the problem you went to the ER for will have gotten dangerously worse. Pay the $60 bucks for an Uber to Kent County or over the border to Attleboro.

  122. Honestly a great place went here when I was 19-20 years old had the best treatment. Way better than what I experienced at hasbro when I was 17. So going to an adult facility helped me a lot. Great treatment here love the staff very friendly.
