Rivendell Behavioral Health Hospital Reviews ( 64 )

  1. The “therapist” there will twist the words of the parent during family sessions, then make up the rest of the details and report you to CPS. Parents beware, you are not safe and your child will be told everything is your fault.

  2. MOST HORRIFYING EXPERIENCE AS AN PARENT YOU CAN EXPERIENCE WITH THIS FACILITY AND THEIR STAFF. THEY PRETTY SURE KIDNAPER OUR CHILD. I DO NOT RECOMEND THIS PLACE FOR ANYONE ITS JAIL NOTHING ELSE BUT JAIL.

  3. So happy that this place exists. I was here around 2013. The staff were very friendly, and the therapists I had was excellent. Can’t really complain about this place.

  4. Staff was rarely helpful if you don’t bring your own clothes and books to read it takes them literal days to get you the thing you need patients are usually very bitchy and agrresive although some staff are really nice and will help you …

  5. I went there when I was 15 they helped me more than anything in the world. I was very blessed that I went.
I was headed down a bad path. I would recommend this for parents for thier children. I am 26 now and I have accomplished so much in my life.

  6. well when i went there back in april 2019
they helped me alot and did what was right for me i was 13 at the time and when they transfered me to a long term it really helped also the therapist was nice!

  7. I went there because I have severe anxiety disorder, felt like jail. Did nothing but make me worse and I was only there 5 days. Place needs big improvements.

  8. Worst place for anyone to go. On weekends, no one will answer the phone, not even the crisis hotline. They keep increasing patients meds till there like zombies. They will lead you to believe it’s for patients good but truth is doc. is …

  9. Very rude and snobby staff. Respect and safety of patients is nearly non-existent. Advice for patients: You are a person who is valuable, despite how you may be treated and talked to here. Stay strong and ignore the rude and hateful, instead seeking out other kind-hearted people so that you can help and support one another.

  10. The front desk staff at this place needs to be replaced or something!! My child never received any of the hygiene products I brought to him nor was he enrolled in school because the front desk staff misplaced his paper work! Now my child is behind in school and can not graduate due to the negligence of the front desk staff!!!!

  11. my stay was amazing. the staff was nice and learned your name fast. the food was amazing. you could always depend on the staff to help you. i got some great advice from one of the workers that saved my life. loved this place so so much.

  12. it was traumatizing most of the staff was friendly but the way they handled things were bad…its hard to explain but i dont recommend this place at all..i went there may the 2nd 2018 i was 11, i still have nightmares about it, and i have …

  13. Not enough time spent on the patient to make a diagnosis and can’t get in touch with them for questions or problems. The pharmacy had questions too and never got a response back and she even made a mistake on the prescription and never …

  14. Called to set up an appointment. In the middle of my explanation, the receptionist hung up in my face. I called back and was sent, without any answer to inpatient admissions. He then sent me back to behavioral health and I was hung up on …

  15. I was here roughly around around 2013 through 2014, and this place really helped me. The staff helped me learn to accept who I was, and the therapist I had was really great. Thank you to all of the wonderful staff there that helped me while I was there.

  16. i was there in 2016 and i have to say you have your pros and cons. the food wasnt good and the staff was sometimes rude, the bedding was terrible, it was like you were sleeping on the matting from kindergarten , on top of wood .. some of …

  17. Aaron Stark-Father of Patient:
My daughter went to the facility 3 times within a month and a half time period. When returning home, she had a UTI, Scabies, and had not shaved nor brushed her …

  18. So I’ve been to Rivendell twice in the past 3 months. They do help a lot. But I just keep relapsing and my depression and anxiety keeps getting worse. But if it wasn’t for some of the people I have met in there and the amazing staff I would be dead right now.

  19. Held my daughter hostage for a week so they could max the charges on my insurance. Scam of a facility even with a court order to release her they made up a lie about doctor being able to keep her regardless. Please keep your kids out of here.

  20. When I went there the staff were wonderful, the food was good, & everyone was so friendly. Even the other patients. Only thing wrong is the beds are hard as a rock, our brushes suck, & our toothbrushes are like 3″ so a 4 star rating.

  21. I’ve been there four times and they were all terrible. I had two seizures there and I was allowed to spend an HOUR at the hospital. I had a code blue (stopped breathing) but still didn’t get the proper medical treatment for it. Turns out …

  22. Do not go there, they have some good food but they are rude and the bed is hard as rock so dont go there unless u want ur kid being tramatized or insane. you get no privacy to go to the bathroom or anything.

  23. warning some of the stuff i have included in this review may be a bit triggering or sensitive to some people reading i have put this out there to help and make sure people go somewhere much safer: I was in this hospital for well over a …

  24. To be honest, the place was awful. I only give it 2 stars to give respect to the nurses. I used to have epilepsy, and when i was there i had been put on meds i was allergic to. For a whole month, i took the meds, and for a whole month, i …

  25. After getting the run around to finally talk to a person, the staff were completely inappropriate with trying to help get a hold of my daughter. Say I need a ID number but they never gave us one after she was admitted. I wasn’t there. I can see how they are receiving a 2.9 approval rating.

  26. I had a friend taken there and I was a bit skeptical but she needed to be placed asap and they had an opening. I was pleasantly surprised by the level of care given. Her meds were causing issues and they identified that immediately, the …

  27. If I could give no stars I would. My 15 year old was admitted on Thursday night because she wanted help. She has a medical condition that was not placed in her file. Her belongs I dropped off on Friday morning were lost. She did not get any …

  28. Staff were nice, therapy was good, food was good, interacting with peers was insightful. Beds were a bit uncomfortable, but not too bad. Toothbrushes were tiny. Couldn’t have my phone. Missed my family. Good security measures, overall professional demeanor from all workers. Exceptionally improved my overall mental health.

  29. I worked there for maybe two months (part time on weekends as a MHA). The younger kids were just grouped together in a large room and ran around all day with ‘mandatory’ group sessions that the care provider was supposed to administer (but …

  30. I went here twice in 2017 and twice in 2018 and although I did receive help from the patients i was in there with and the food was good, and it could be fun at times I would have to rate this place an overall 1. 3 of my siblings have also …

  31. I went there a few years ago, and stayed for a week or two. The service Rivendell provides is practically non-existent (I only saw a therapist once my entire stay), and it feels more like a prison than actually trying to help anyone. The …

  32. I went here in February, I was detoxing from Alcohol. I was informed before I went I could use the phone at any time, I was told I’d be checked on every 15 minutes during detox. When I got there it was cold and the rooms and beds reminded …

  33. When I was there in 2019, I got in a fight with a kid. He was like 13? Bruh I was 13, I still got the cards at the end of my stay. The kid was always mocking me, so I screamed at him 🙂 (Also not a very good idea to mock others). I mean who …

  34. I went about 2 years ago and it was terrible, the staff were rude as hell. they didn’t give me pads/tampons when I needed them. no hair brush, a wooden comb that wouldn’t run through mine, or any of the other people staying there’s hair. …

  35. Some things were okay, but the majority of the staff was rude and was there mostly there for a paycheck.I didn’t feel safe at times because a different unit was passing by at night acting crazy,a certain staff will call her Ms.R would …

  36. We sent our daughter there with the intentions of getting her the very best help that she needed we left with an even more traumatized child, and our family has been as well as whole. This place made it their business to make decisions …

  37. Was admitted here from out of town in March 2021. Met with helpful psychiatrists. Gave me an appropriate diagnosis and correct medication unlike my usual practitioner that I had been seeing 4 years prior. …

  38. i hated this place. Most the staff were rude but some were so sweet. i didn’t even see their therapist once it was sad. i had a Panic attack and the staff just looked at me and put his thumb up to ask me if i was okay when i was clearly …

  39. I came to rivendell in 2021 twice and once this year. ive also done partial twice. it was rough at first due to changes but there are good workers here who are very helpful. partial is better than inpatient so id recommend that. but overall …

  40. i got to this place on march 29th and left april 5th. the nurses dont give a care for you only for there paychecks. there was only one good nurse there. ill just say ms. J thats all. she actually made all the kids feel cared for and …

  41. I was admitted here twice. Once at 12 years old for a suicide attempt. I don’t remember too much of this time because I was in a state of shock for the majority of the time and it’s been years (I’m about to be 17) but here’s what I do …

  42. I have tried to get my niece in Rivendell twice. Once was when she overdosed on purpose and second is when she ran away. Both times she did not meet their criteria. With everything, I’m not understanding why she don’t meet the criteria. …

  43. i want to dive right in with this. I came here about a year ago to try to heal from my past. let me tell you it was far from healing. when u think of a place that cares about your mentality you think of somewhere you can actually ease your …
