Salt Lake City – Public Utilities (UT) Reviews ( 32 )

  1. This group of people has to be one of the lowest forms of humanity on the earth. They apparently don’t understand the dictionary term of what a Customer is. The worst thing about these people is that don’t even pretend to care.

  2. They are the worst to deal with. Horrible customer service, they don’t offer alternatives or options for payments, and the servicemen that have come out to my house have always been so rude. Terrible experience every time, I dread calling them for anything.

  3. I did not switch over service fast enough so I was given 3 hours notice to set up an account. I still did it under the time constraints given to me and water was shut off anyway.

  4. Informed my meter reader that I needed a new lid for the 3 foot hole in which the meter is contained before someone fell in. I have since called three times in the past three months and get a different person each time, who apologizes and promises to get it done and it still hasn’t happened.

  5. These lady’s that work here are the rudest most ignorant people I have ever in my life encountered they don’t even work with you if you ask for a one day extension I’ve never in my life been so upset then when I have to deal with them and …

  6. Awful in every capacity – these people have zero accountability to the public – shame on this department for your continued disservice to the public who pay your salaries.

  7. I just got home to no water and when I walked around the apartment complex there was a parking lot full of water so because I could see nobody working on it I called the public utility’s and pushed 1 for an emergency to see if it had been …

  8. Been calling them for a year to fix a leak on the city-side of my meter. Six months ago a sinkhole started to form and sidewalk is dropping. Leak still not fixed. …

  9. I pay over 140.00 a month for water I pay monthly and do get behind but every month they are coming to turn my water off. I got my water turned off when I had made a $140.00 payment less then a month ago. The water company can do this to us because they are the only ones we can go to for water.

  10. On July 1 with a full house of guests ( Defensively self isolating ourselves from COVID 19) I woke up and found that the water pressure was low. At 8:02 AM I called SLCPU about the issue. At 8:19 AM SLCPU called back that pressure issue was fixed. And it was!! There are very few places where Public Utility is so well operated. Thanks.

  11. Marian and Arlene were amazingly helpful from the water department. They emailed back same day with thorough information. Sent someone out same day as well to flush the system. I really appreciated their help!

  12. Honestly, this is by far the best utility company I have ever dealt with. I have dealt with many utility companies over the years and have had many complaints with all of them, both from being complete ignorants to over charging for …

  13. I had a leak in my sprinkler system which made my bill $400.00 for the month. I made arrangements to make monthly payments. I forgot one of the payments so I called to talk to the customer service agent about my bill. Having the leak, two …

  14. Was over billed and given a shut off notice. I pay up after trying to understand how I went from being caught up to being 70 bucks in the hole. They do not try to help, its pay up or else. I am a disabled vet and its illegal to shut off …

  15. I now place the public utilities on notice for providing false misleading and inconsistent material statements in an official proceeding of the state and causing millions in damages as a result and what make any one think it is …

  16. Just like everything that Salt Lake City runs this is another absolute dumpster fire. If only Salt Lake City was as forceful with the hobos running all over town as they are with utility customers.

  17. 01/30/2023:
My Salt Lake City utilities bill is extremely high. I am only using 1 toilet flush every two days and no garbage, but Salt Lake City just charged my bank …

  18. Another example of the state of Utah failing on the government level. Horrible customer service, policies and people working here are the epitome of government workers scabbing on the system and not caring about their jobs. Great job Salt Lake!

  19. Being a monopoly does not exempt you from treating others with respect.

The classic book, In Search of Excellence, (authored by Peters and Waterman) …

  20. I’ve had to work with them numerous times. Their Customer Service Rep Araceli Arche is great to work with! She’s so informative, attentive, and understanding. I always look forward to reaching out. Keep up the great work!
