Sparta Community Hospital Sparta Community Hospital is a 25-bed full-service acute care medical facility, which is a fully licensed and certified Medicare and Medicaid provider.
The entire staff from the point we walked in the ER door was absolutely professional, caring, and efficient. I was very impressed with the skill and precision that the entire team showed in caring for my loved one. They were literal lifesavers!
Unless you want all of your business around town don’t go here.. plus when drawing my blood they hit a nerve in my arm twice! Caused me horrible pain for days 🙁
Wasting precious time needed to prevent a stroke, providing a useless antibiotic. Go anywhere else.. Should be turned into a helipad for transport to a real hospital.
Rude staff, seem to rush patients and guess what the problem is instead of take the time to figure out what’s really wrong. Gives false information from test results just to get you out of their hair. All around poor staff.
I’M ONLY EVEN GIVING THEM ONE SINGLE STAR BECAUSE THERE’S NO OPTION TO GIVE THEM NONE!!! HORRIBLE BED-SIDE MANNER TO MY 3 YEAR OLD. THIS DOCTOR COULD NOT HAVE CARED LESS AND IT SHOWED. WE LEFT AND WENT TO SAINT ELIZABETH’S, WHAT A …
I would like to give them 0 for their billing dept.
I shouldn’t have to scan my credit card statement to show them that i did pay them. Will never use them again unless they have to wheel me in an ambulance.
my husband was there very sick the nurses Stephanie, and Kerri was awesome and so was Dr McDonald he was transferred to BJC, they were praising the IV port that they put in. These was ICU nurses at Barnes….Thank you you saved his life
I have had good experiences with Sparta ER. the doctors and nurses have been very kind and considerate. they seem knowledgeable and willing . one of the docs even suggested more potassium and has made a huge difference in heart fib. thank you Sparta hospital !!
Placing an IV port should be a simple procedure. This procedure is done in the ER at Sparta. When it is done wrong (I have had several placed a year for the past 15 years) it should be re-done without being billed as an ER visit. Just like any other business, don’t bill your customer for your mistake.
Saw Dr. Marshell in the ER today, he was great. Very attentive to my problem, past history. The whole experience was much better than I anticipated. Only complained is they don’t have good signs for where to go outside the hospital.
Don’t ever let them tell you are not a legitimate patient in the er when your having a anxiety ptsd attack. They don’t understand this and become cold to you.
Big thank you to the ER staff. I was very sick, I am a nurse who had the flu. Was dehydrated and very ill. Made two visits, because I didn’t stay the first time the doctor wanted me to. Had the same doctor different nurses. The care concern …
Horrible. I went into the ER with my 10 day old baby who was having trouble breathing. They were rude at the desk and the nurses seemed annoyed I was there.
The Dr Marshall came in and asked why I was even there and that I should just go …
I don’t even think the ER department at Sparta Community even deserves the 1star that I had no other option but to give. I’ve NEVER been so disrespected nor have I ever seen so many health care professionals be so unprofessional. Doctor …
Avoid at all costs. Went in to er. Dr walks in and says I can’t do nothing for you. Nurses bandage me and out I go. Dr bill is billed separate from hospital. Hospital bill was reasonable. Dr bill came in at $9518 per hour for him to say I can’t help you. Was in room for less than 3 min! Hell the top surgeon in the US don’t charge that!
Very kind and Caring Staff. This isn’t a Level 1 hospital, meaning critical care hospital. The staff in the Er are kind and caring. With my situation, I had to be transported to a Level 1 hospital in Saint Luis. …
This hospital is and absolutely joke, nothing but a glorified bandaid station. Would leave no stars but not and option. Receptionist is a good choice word with no compassion for patients. Stear clear of this place and go a little further to …
This is the worst hospital I have ever been to. The nurses are nice and do a good job, but the Dr’s have zero bedside manner. The administrative and billing department are no help at all and I don’t think they have any clue how to do their …
Do not go to a clinic/hospital when you feel unheard. Amy Epstein is a joke, the nurse manager is a terrible person. Care more about their own pockets then the patients. Special needs mom and I am disgusted how they handled my daughters case and do not recommend her as a doctor. Esp for complex medical cases
Caring and amazing staff. I had such an easy and low stress experience from walking into the door to being wheeled out after surgery. The staff makes sure to be highly detailed with any questions and concerns you have and will always check in on you. Thank you again SCH!

They have an inefficient billing system that allows your bill to go into collections before you are aware that you have a bill.
All went well and was in and out and pain was taken care of

However it’s frustrating that imaging and or certain labs can’t be done despite being listed as a 24 hour urgent care option. …
