  10. The mandatory emissions testing is pointless and burdensome to citizens. It’s the perfect example of government bureaucracy and waste. What’s the point? I’m not driving a car made 30 years ago.

  13. The Tennessee Department of Revenue like the Board of Commercial Licensing are two of the best departments to deal with. I had a tax question and they fixed it right away. You cannot beat the Tennessee Department of Revenue!

  14. TNTAP issued 2 business tax certificates for one county and 0 for the city I needed so now I can’t get them to understand their mistake and they keep wanting the county or city clerk’s to fix this. It’s not their mistake. It’s the DOR. They don’t even understand their system.

  16. They are beyond useless. If you call and ask a question they say “I can’t tell you that”. Even if it’s about what form is for what. And then if you send the wrong form in they keep your money and say do it again, even though nothing has been done. I can’t think of anyone else who does nothing and keeps your money. I have called twice before and was on hold for 15 minutes and 24 minutes. They are saying that I did not pay our sales tax and are charging us a penalty and interest. I paid it and it was EARLY.

  19. I got stuck with a position I never wanted and needed A LOT of guidance. I requested help on the website and they responded within an hour!!!! We e-mailed back and forth for an entire day. The Tennessee website is super complicated and has you going in circles for 30 minutes without explanation. Needs updating.
