  3. Came in for a mental evaluation. I have me sitting in a hallway for the past 8 hours. With NO care. They have only came up and talked with me for about 30 minutes the whole time I’ve been here.

  8. Excellent Drs. I don’t mind the residents or fellows. Everyone has to learn, but I don’t want them doing delicate procedures. Just my preference

  9. Doctor Hoth prescribed the perfect antibiotic for my illness, although refused to prescribe anything habit-forming, likely because of current drug culture and media.

  10. Tell this day if you ask me who my dr was i wouldnt be able to tell you i was there for a month in they icu and regular care the did the closing stich wrong now im stuck with shoulder pain and th ask for the wrong gentic test so i had to …

  11. Most of the Docs are very good and committed to getting things right. There are a few who don’t pay attention and just want to do things their way even when it’s not the best way.

  12. There’s nice people like Sarah and Dr David burn center for kids and ogher ladies there were so nice to me while my baby treatment her burn .I would like to tell that place thank you for saving my daughter’s life

  13. The Pain Clinic is supposed to be the best place for care around here if it is you would be treated better at any other place possible> I am a Iowa transplant I came from Florida where I had believed the worst doctors in the world were but …

  14. It’s extremely discouraging when you try to do the right thing and set up payment arrangements on a balance owed and the University of Iowa refuses to accept what you can reasonably afford each month and then to find out that they have sent it to collections the week after you tried to set up payment arrangements

  15. I’ve not been there yet but, have communicated via email, phone and mail with team members taking care of my case. Will be going there the end of this month. My experience has been positive so far.

  16. I was dealing with a mental illness, and they reassured me I was okay, and gave me medicine to calm down. They asked how can they help me, and they listened very well. …

  17. Exceptional medical care, best in the state, some things the region, a few the country! Parking is the biggest drawback, paying to visit those hospitalized seems wrong.

  18. I’ve had good experiences here I’ve saw people in bad shape come here with no insurance and be treated with hospital stay. They helped him a lot treated him with respect. Good hospital

  19. Everyone was more than helpful, excellent doctors and nurses. Everyone went out of their way to show us where to go. Very positive experience , especially for a difficult time. Thank You.

  22. I would like to start this off by thanking the staff that helped me out, on what I thought was one of the hardest days of my life. If there are doctors and nurses that read this and wonder how to save a life. Give these guys a call because they saved mine.

  23. I would give it no stars if I could. I arrived at the Emergency Room at 2:30 pm. It is now 8 pm and counting. I have not even been called to see a doctor yet MULTIPLE people who have came in after me have been in and out with ease. This is ridiculous.

  24. ive been going to this hospital since i was a little girl and i have to say my doctors are the best i have seen and ive seen a lot of doctors for my RA and eye problems. Dr. Kwon, Dr. Syed, Dr. Russell and Dr. Ferguson and Sarah in the peds dept.

  25. I was a patient there on the 8Jc unit following a horrific car accident. I was treated wonderfully by everyone. Thank you so much for going above and beyond with very caring loving hearts. Thank God for such a staff.

  26. I have always been very happy with my experience at the University…I think though that Dr Brian Shian should rethink his career choice or brush up on his medical knowledge and bedside manner. Maybe he should have attended law school.

  27. Went to the Emergency Room waited 5 plus hrs. then finally went back to the dr and that was a waste of my time he did nothing went to my reg dr the next day found out I was having an allergic reaction to the medication I was taking. Boy oh boy they sure wanted their copay dr never touched me…

  28. Oh these Doctor’s and Staff took excellent Care of me while admitted and continue to do so as an outpatient. I will drive from DesMoines to Iowa City to be treated like a person instead of a number.

  29. Make sure youre at the emergency room a good 5-6 hours before you have an emergency, that way youll only have to wait another 5-10 hours to be seen by a dr, who will take another 3-5 hours after seeing you to not do anything.

  30. I love this hospital, they have the nicest doctors and nurses you could ever wish for. However There’s one medical assistant that I’m trying to find the name of.

  31. I have gone here for xrays for my sparained ankle. The staff work very fast and are accurate. I only spent 15min.in xrays and out. The staff is very friendly and caring at their jobs.

  32. Overrated. Go to Mayo Clinic or the University of Minnesota. Minnesota’s health care system is leaps and bounds over Iowa’s. I now see a reply from the University. To that reply I say that a nice response does not compensate for a health …

  33. 6 stars if I could. From the top to the bottom, thank you for all you do! You all our amazing! For all the bad reviews, remember it all starts with your attitude, and your not the only people seeking treatment.

  35. I drive from Nebraska to see a specialist here and the staff is always amazing and takes the time to answer my questions. The hospital is beautiful and easy to navigate.

  36. Reputable staff. Grossly overcharged for a blood work sample that was for informational purposes. Billing department difficult to work with. Advise that you have exceptional insurance when walking through their doors or be prepared to pay.

  57. Nothing like sending your family members home while still half sedated and having issues coming out of it. Quality of care is hit or miss, sometimes it’s above average, other times I’d say you’d be better off taking your chances with the crackhead in the alley doing whatever procedure you’re having done!

  58. Drove two hours for husband’s appt and was told I had to sit in car where it was cold cause I wasn’t allowed to go into appt. Wasn’t allowed to get something to eat or drink and wasn’t even allowed to go to bathroom.

  59. Has I write this, I have been sitting for 2 hours past my consult appointment time in the Cancer Center; it was over an hour wait last appointment. Reading you reviews, you have a systemic issue in your facility and you give a cut & paste answer to all those who have pointed this out.
