HIGHLY OVERRATED!! It’s a known fact that teaching hospitals CAN BE somewhat of an advantage, but this place is living off that myth and borrowed time. First it’s FILTHY! Wanna feel like dirt scraped off of scum, go here. Want to feel …
Great nurse’s and doctors. Only thing i dont like is their environmental service’s. Shouldnt have to hunt someone down just to get a room cleaned. Especially when its your own family members room.
My father was two weeks from dying after a year of suffering and doctors ignoring his condition. After three days visiting doctors here he went from preparing to die to receiving a liver transplant in less than a week. The doctors here are absolutely AMAZING
I have been paying on my Vanderbilt bill for 3 months and they sold it to a collection agency because apparently I didn’t see the set up payment options if you can’t pay in full. It’s bologna. Not everyone can pay their medical bills in …
As with any healthcare facility, be a good patient, ask questions, be kind to all staff, and know how fortunate we are to have this level of care available to us. I have used Vanderbilt Health for all of my healthcare needs for a decade.
This place at Vanderbilt is a great training tool for people who want to work. I was an intern at Project SEARCH class of 2017. Thank you Project SEARCH for giving me the tools to find a job I really like. NHC in Springfield …

No hospital can hold a candle to this facility. Drs fantastic. Staff even more fantastic. My life has been touched by thoracic. Pulmonology. Radiology hematology. X-ray. Psychiatric adimssions. Er. There is almost know one who hasn’t touch my life.
Dr placed orders for me to have procedure, then be admitted. Procedure was done on time. Was admitted by 0913. Still waiting in main lobby for a room at 1237. When asked staff about a time for room get told they are still working on it.
I have been in the care of this organization a couple of times and they have performed their job at that highest of standards. The only complaint is they do not allow your children in the ER to see you. Keep up the good work Vandy!
Could not have asked for more from the moment we walked in. From admitting to surgery, recovery to the 9th floor we were confident that my husbands’ recovery was the top priority. Our heartfelt thanks to all for the wonderful care!
Went in with excruciating back pain and was charged $700 simply for them to tell me there was nothing they could do. Complete waste of time and a huge rip off to walk out with the same issues I walked in with, with no resolution. If you …

I have to go there every 6 months for my esophagus, so when I swallow the food or drink will go down. The best doctor’s and nursing staff are so great. Ithink I will stick with this one. I don’t see me going anywhere else.
I go to Columbia to Vanderbilt Heart to Janice Vinson. She prescribes Eliquis for me. I’m in the donut hole now and can’t pay for it. I ask the Dr. for samples and she said Vanderbilt would not let them do this. Yet Vanderbilt sent me several letters asking me to put them in my Will. What do you thank I should do.
Came for a 3pm appt, didn’t get called back till 340pm. 4pm, no doctor in sight. These offices don’t respect patient time anymore. It is only about how many people they can cram in and how much money that equals. The 3 stars are for the …
I went to a doctor at Vanderbilt because of ear pain. She told me I had an ear infection in each ear, and prescribed a very strong steroid. Two days later, I saw an ENT at Vanderbilt and he said I had ZERO infection and to stop taking the …
They bring new insight to what Malpractice means. The things they don’t catch when they so obviously should can and does make the difference between life and death. The very clear symptoms apparent to all in the room, ignored, until …
My wife was treated like a piece of meat on a conveyor belt. They were moving patients in and out so fast it was a shame. They did not explain to my wife what conscience sedation was in a manner that she could understand because she would …
The hospital is a shell of it’s former self, from the staff and it’s bedside manner to the food and dining. If you have a choice I’d suggest Centennial 10 out of 10 times.
I wish I could rate it a -2, st thomas west is worse -10!! There is 1 hospitalists here that is “GOD” I guess, he is over all spacialists I guess. When he is not here things are pretty good, would rate place 2 almost 3 stars. He now ordered …

My autistic son sees a feeding therapist at the children’s hospital. Sometimes I go to park in the garage and there is no problem. Other times there are guards telling me that even though I am 10 days from being induced in labor I can’t …
Hate that place! Rooms were terribly old for the money you spend. Whole hospital is old and outdated. It is super confusing to get around. My husbands surgery wasn’t a success. Could have done less harm in our small town.
Rude, judgmental nurses! I took my fiancé back to see a doctor after she fell and split her knee open… They had stitched her up without giving an x-Ray or anything else… After a day she was in terrible pain and we were concerned about …

My wife had a hysterectomy, and it went well, except that there was some secondary nerve damage. I am certain that this is due to the fact that various trainees were involved in the operation. That’s the downside to the Vanderbilt …
Most of the staff is not “Family” friendly of patient’s being cared for. I gave them my cell phone number to contact me about my Dad Care, but when the Doctor’s called they had an attitude with me because of Hospital Policy, but He is my biological Father. If I could I would give them a negative stars for treatment of Family members.
I know this hospital is said to be top notch drs. Dang, the only way to be seen in er is by rescue. My son and I waited over 4 n a half hrs, he was screaming in stomach pain. We asked how much longer, 8 people in front of us. Knew that …

I am beyond pleased with our experience at Vanderbilt. Every single person we encountered treated us with love, respect, and compassion. This will be our hospital of choice so long as we are in Nashville.

We were scheduled for an admission at 8:00 this morning and we are still waiting in the lobby at 1:15. My brother has seizures and type 2 diabetes. If I’m uncomfortable, I know he is. This has been an absolute nightmare.
I have been a patient here several times. The ER is crazy busy and overall I would give it a 4 star rating. Inpatient would be a 5 star. My doctors and staff are top notch and very helpful. I would not go anywhere else.
My wife was air lifted here. She was pregnant and was losing alot of blood. The placenta was detaching from the uterus….she lost 2.5 pints of blood and given 4 pints for a transfusion…the emergency surgery team was A+. However when they …

I was at Vanderbilt with my boyfriend who was in hospital there .
I have to give kudos to the staff there , from dietary , to housekeeping to nursing staff …
Check around with other In Network Providers before choosing Vandy. Too big of a bureaucracy to get anything resolved. Too many ‘Chefs in the Kitchen’ when trying to coordinate care, much less problem resolution. Consistently overbill, …
Fraud alert

Wanted to give “0” star but don’t have any option. We are new parents and unfortunately decided to choose Vanderbilt to bringing our baby into this world – BIGGEST MISTAKE that i have ever done. They are short staffed and would let you wait …
They coerced my husband into doing a surgery by keeping him in hospital and telling him he couldn’t go home. He was in hospital 3 1/2 months and died from complications due to surgery. They took months from his life that we could have had. They will be hearing from my lawyer.
Top notch staff kind well informed and they never mind put things in terms you can understand.there’s no other hospital that I would rather use in Nashville I’ve never been misdiagnosed and I’ve always been handled with the best care is if I was being treated by a friend. They are far above any of the other surrounding hospitals.
This is one of the most difficult hospitals to get treatment at. Not only is the ER dept. a huge let down as I spent nearly 24 hrs in the facility for a slip and fall, but to schedule a followup with a specialty dept. is bordering on …
Drove 4 hours to get there after talking to 3 different people that were saying my fiancé could visit a patient. Then got to see the patient for maybe 10 minutes then the nurse kicked her out.
Tried to get information on Vandy’s available Covid-19 infusion treatment. It appears this 87% effective and free medical treatment to prevent hospitalization and death wants to be kept a secreat and not accessible for the masses. …
My father in law is here for a back surgery and we have had a great all around experience in the ICU and with the medical team. The waiting areas are comfortable and both the cafeteria and cafe are fantastic. I would definitely recommend Vanderbilt and suggest using the free valet parking.
Very, very, very 100 times very poor customer service. Nurses are rude. Can’t get information on family members that are patients.
They maybe #1 Trauma Center and able to care for the patients but they care nothing for the families.
We found everyone extremely helpful, professional and friendly. The nurses, doctors, transport services, parking attendants and cafeteria workers could not have been better. All our appointments were on time. All the rooms and facilities were clean and comfortable. Free valet parking.
A family member had to go into the ER, and ended up with a 3-day hospital stay in TOBS. I was there for most of those days. The staff that provided care over those 3 days did a nice job. The PAs, nurses and care partners were caring, responsive, and helpful.
I stayed here with my aunt some years ago after she had a severe orthopedic injury and required surgery. Most the staff members in her unit were terrific, especially the nurses, doctors/Med Students and her Orthopedic surgeon.
I went to Vanderbilt Medical Center as a self pay patient. I paid the full amount they asked when I walked out of the visit. I then got a bill in the mail saying I owed money. After several long phone calls with long wait times I found out …

Doctors are rude and arrogant. They don’t tell you what is wrong with you. They lie to you about aftercare appointments being set up for follow up but they don’t tell your Dr what they made the appointment for. Don’t go to Vanderbilt. Not worth the frustration and lies
No joke this hospital has figured out how to maximize profits in every single moment – they are absolutely relentless at making you wait. If you have even the smallest thing wrong you will see a minimum of 3-5 different people who will ALL …

I have been to the VA part of candy. I’m very pleased with the results from the doctor and the other stuff. My wife is in remission now for four years. And she was in Vanderbilt hospital for that. I will give move than five stars if I could.
This rating is for patient billing ONLY! The Children’s Hospital is probably one of the best hospitals ever I couldn’t have asked for better service for my child. The doctors were amazing anf the nurses did everything they could to make …
I rate this “hospital” with ZERO stars. I was denied entry while my heart patient son was in surgery. The only thing that this review will get is a fake apology. Vanderbilt will never get my money again and I will promote this situation to everyone including the patient advocate.

I came in for the SARS-CoV-2 vaccine today and was blown away by how easy it was. I’ve heard of so many people waiting in long lines for the vaccine, but this was faster than my yearly flu shot at the neighborhood drug store. Your staff is doing an amazing job! Thanks VUMC!
I want to say 1st and foremost thank you!

Knew that …
If I could give 0 stars; I would. If Vanderbilt is considered one of the best hospitals, then I don’t want to see the worst. …
Dr. Eugene Gu is a so called “Doctor” who spends his days tweeting insults against people on Twitter, instead of treating his patients. My grandmother was being treated at his hospital and his was the attending physician. As he was giving …
I am beyond pleased with our experience at Vanderbilt. Every single person we encountered treated us with love, respect, and compassion. This will be our hospital of choice so long as we are in Nashville.
I drove a friend to Vanderbilt University Hospital for consultation and after parking and needing directions to the proper clinic, I met J. Turner, assigned to direct traffic and pedestrian crossing, who was courteous, skilled and highly …

I came into the er at Vanderbilt on Saturday may 12 2018. When I came in I was very sick I truly believe that I was dying and probably was. I have no insurance and no income. I had bee to the hospital in the town I live in (Lawrenceburg …
However when they …
The primary care was awful. I felt as though the doctor did not listen to what I was telling him, and then I got blood work done. I was told that I would need to access my results on My Vanderbilt Health. Despite me correcting two nurses …
Fraud alert
Please don’t go to Vanderbilt medical center eye exam if you have uhc vision plan . They are out of network . But they lied to me . None of the representatives …
Disappointed with the service Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital nyphology provided today. Our appointment was scheduled for 3:20pm, we arrived at 2:30pm and it’s 4:46pm and just now being seen. Every patient was called and we still sat waiting …

I would like to clarify up front that my review of VUMC is based on several interactions with this health care facility over several years, and not on one unfortunate experience. This is truly the most incompetent organization I’ve ever …
The entire staff was great front start to finish. I went to Vandy ER yesterday Jan 5 2018 around 130pm with what I knew were a few broken ribs & thinking my nose was broken too. While there after x-rays & cat scan learned that I had …
I wouldn’t recommend this facility if it was the only option for medical care. My husband has been a Crohns patient since 2013. We’ve always tried to go along with their recommendations but if we’ve ever disagreed or challenged their …
Went into the hospital for a laparoscopic abdominal procedure and was to stay over night for observation. The pre-op and PACU staff was nice enough- no problems there. In the OR, I was absolutely treated like a slab of meat. Nobody made the …
This place is horrible. I went to this hospital at noon, got checked in and the nurse couldn’t even do a straight stick for labs. The staff sent me back to the ER waiting room and started letting people that came in after me skip me. I sat …

They were all okay but Allie in the ER was AWESOME! She went above and beyond to assure that I was as comfortable as possible. I’m glad you guys hired her💕 5 🌟 for Allie! …

I went to Vanderbilt ER with a seriously painful flare up of my Crohn’s Disease. The pain of this ailment is out of this world. I was supposed to receive prednisone for it. However, two doctors by the name of Dr. Allie Reinbold and Dr. …
In 2017 your Triage unit saved my daughter’s life. She was air lifted in after a motorcycle crash. Was there for 5 weeks. God bless this hospital and their staff. Best doctors and care staff anywhere. Period.
The lasting memory is going to be being moved out of my room to a ‘quiet room’ waiting for my meds before going home. It was a great experience up to that point and went from 5 star to 1 star. Turns out that can refuse to go to the quiet …

Kean Witzeman likes to leave 1- star reviews for small businesses because of political differences. Consider this a taste of his own medicine. I’m sorry if this affects anyone besides him. But I really have no tolerance for hateful people like Kean.
