Wayne Memorial Hospital (GA) Reviews ( 111 )

  1. I had a baby here 2/6/23 with a scheduled c-section and was discharged today (2/8/23). My care from admissions, testing, all parts of the maternity ward (including the surgery staff), and discharge were exceptional! The staff steady …

  2. Came in and while wife gets iv all done, nurse leaves and leave an 18,20,&22 gauge needles to start ivs on wife’s bed and walks away. Then we call cause she needs a ct scan and when they do finally come in they’re like are you ready for ct …

  3. This is one of the most disrespectful places ever they never no whats wrong with you and they really let 4 people that came in after us get a room before my 3 year daughter like as if what ever was wrong with her wasnt important they suck and there service suck.

  4. Not that things are bad enough in life with the corona but to have to be treated rudely by the lady at the check in desk to get a number come on u could at least be half decent

  5. Well let me get started we got here and the room is nasty sticky stuff all over the floor my daughter had to take a bath and the nurse don’t even pick up her nasty towels they leave it on the dang floor and her trash is full they wont even change it this hospitals is the worst I have ever visted I never come back here

  6. Hi my name is James Bailey I went to liberty memorial last week with a severe toothache they kapt saying we don’t have a dentist over and over than asked to leave a few days later it was worse sooo I went to Wayne Memorial they took me back …

  7. That place cant even treat a room full of sick people. Waiting times are horribly long for a doctor to come spend less than a minute with you. Something needs to be done. If you are able i highly recommend anywhere else but there.

  8. I went to the emergency room and had to be transfered. But the diagnosis from the ER doc was spot on. They treated me very well even with my fear of needles and really even being there. 5 plus stars.

  9. The staff here is awesome! I would rather my loved ones be here than any other small hospital . This is the small hospital with the big heart. Thanks for all that you do!

  10. I can’t thank the staff enough for what they did for me. They were fast very freindly and respectful, answered every question I had, very sympathetic and extremely professional. You all are a reason for me to be thankful for today. Happy Thanksgiving y’all!!!!!!

  11. The staff is very friendly, but they charge a LOT for bloodwork. I got routine bloodwork done here, since I’m living in the area for attending college, so I didn’t go to the usual place I get bloodwork done. They charged almost $1000 for routine bloodwork. What the hell?

  12. Dr Cross sent my 2 yr old nephew home with horrible flu symptoms & a high fever!! Never even swabbed him for the flu or strep! After that, I’d never take the chance of coming to this hospital…

  13. I wouldn’t recommend going to this hospital if you were on your death bed. Drive the extra hour because in emergency isn’t urgent here at all. Take care of yourself and avoid this place and it’s negative energy!!! YOU’VE BEEN WARNED!

  14. Worst hospital I’ve ever been to in my life. Surprised they meet codes and standards. Feel bad for the people in Jesup that have to use this dump. Their rating factor says it all and the hospital should take action on the feedback .

  15. We are extrodinarly fustrated. Been sick for over a month. Got a diagnosis and antibiotics. We are getting worse. Very cold and distant doctor and nurses…and the most generic answer to be given, with this apathetic…we don’t really know and don’t really care attitudes given. It is the answer we keep getting.

  16. Wish i could give a 0. Foot was in chronic pain and swolen, told him I been prescribed water pills before, got it drained, had foot surgery, wore compression socks that only resulted in blood clots. Mentioned my heart problems. Literally, …

  17. If I could give less than one star, I would! This hospitals emergency room is a joke. Patients leaving with 104 fevers and bleeding, telling them it’s a virus. Good luck getting anyone to answer a question about the doctors and billing, either. Thank God Brunswick is close, here we come!

  18. Recently had surgery here. Everyone treated me with respect and kept me informed of everything that was going on. All the OR staff and physicians were amazing. Best care I have ever had.

  19. My experience with everyone at this hospital was a very good one. From my first step in the door for my pre-op, until after my surgery and they even called to check on me. Everyone was just great. I wish all hospitals were like this one. Thanks👍👏💜🌸 …

  20. My first time using tha labor and delivery unit and was underestimating this place it was awsome every nurse here was so professional and helpful they love what they do never been treated this good in any other hospital God bless them …

  21. Every experience we’ve ever had here had been AWFUL at best. Last night we went and ended up driving an extra 40 minutes to Baxley to get care. So glad we did! Ballet took GREAT card of me!

  22. I read the reviews before I went and I regret to say that the reviews are accurate. I experienced poor bed side manner. Dr. Gilmore treated me as if I inconvenienced his day. Make a long story short don’t go. The staff is rude minus the …

  23. For the most part we have always had a great experience at wayne memorial. We’ve been coming here for years. We have multiple children so Wayne Memorial is very familiar with us.

  24. Nearly killed my husband. They never got to the root of the problem which was kidney failure. Nurses are awesome and there is only one hospitalist there I would trust. My husband is now in Waycross because of the negligence of Wayne memorial.

  25. I am so glad that this hospital does not take my insurance… A very good friend of mine was recently admitted here and the care was HORRIBLE! No compassion whatsoever. She also had bedsores within a week! If you look up arrogance in the …

  26. Shnelda from lab is one of the worst people they have employed she always has a attitude, and also she thinks she knows more that nurses do! They need to get rid of that old lady she is one miserable human being

  27. Always been a great hospital. Has always Had kind and respectful staff.
Never been disrespected at this hospital… Until now. 2nd floor service desk just blatenly went out of her way to be completely rude. To be honest it really …

  28. Would never go back there! The nurse my husband had was very rude and disrespectful, called my husband a liar about his symptoms, very unprofessional in my opinion, not to mention had to stick him 6x just to get an IV in, asked for water …

  29. Seen in the ER in the evening. After triage and vital signs taken to a room. Nurse introduced herself and brought some medicine. I think the guy that came in the room wearing a white coat was a DR. He did not let us know who he was or the …

  30. Brought my wife with a terrible migraine headache. Registration was quick ( they want to make sure the insurance pays them ) got put in a room within 15 minutes. After that this was as slow as an I-V going in your vain. No nurse came to the …

  31. Quick and professional ER visit. My husband cut his hand recently. We went to the ER and they saw us quickly, gave us excellent service, and all the staff were polite and kind. His hand is healing nicely. We will use Wayne Memorial for any healthcare needs we have!

  32. We had taken my mother to the ER there to be treated for dehydration due to stomache virus which they NEVER TREATED! They have her nitroglycerin instead and she almost died. They had to life flight her to Savannah. If we wouldn’t have been …

  33. Facility is great. People are nice. Blood work is a mess. Someone should be dedicated for blood work check-in. The wait just to have blood drawn is inexcusable. Will someone please fix this simple problem???

  34. Went to the ER in A ton of Pain!!! ER said “You see Dr.____, so I’m not gonna treat you”!!! Wow…just WOW. Nice that doctors can now pick and choose who they want to treat!!! What ever happened to their OATH!!! Horrible Hospital!!! …

  35. There were so many attitudes within the nursing staff. There is a lot of patient blaming verbally, to cover their shortcomings. The nursing aids gave you a breath of sunshine, while you are enduring pain.

  36. Think your staff DR. & Nurses need more classes on bedside manor and diagnosing people. And really need to stop considering everyone is a druggie or whatever. Every time I walk into this place which isn’t very often I always think I …

  37. They care nothing for their workers. My friend got hired and then had a family emergency to where her daughter almost lost her life.. They fired her for not showing because she was with her child in the hospital. Not a place I would want to go. Sorry excuse and no compassion.

  38. On 6/13/2019 I brought my husband to the ER at around 11:45am with a treble fish hook in his finger. Staff who checked us in were very pleasant and prompt. However that’s were the quality service ended. The nurse who came to take him back …

  39. After sitting in an ER room and talking on deaf ears disappointed is an understatement. Although most rooms seemed empty the nurses complained many times about being tired & the people just kept them going and going. I have nurse friends, I …

  40. To start with if I could you’d get no Star at all. Do not go here and expect to be treated as a patient. When you walk in the ladies up front are usually your only ones too treat you as a human. The ones in the back that should be …

  41. Unreal how sorry our hospital is… Mr. Joe, needs to fix that place asap!!! Beyond hateful a*s people especially when you’re in the ER!!! If you could give a -;20; that’s exactly what I’d post but… it’s always said I hope you get to feeling better after being hateful when people are sick!!! 🙄 …

  42. Honestly this hospital don’t deserve anything. I went with my mother, we sat in the waiting room for about an hour and a half. Then we sat in the back to have horrible bedside manners. I have never met a doctor so lazy, he literally walked …

  44. My name is Holly Acevedo I had some neck surgery done at this small hospital. Let me just say that the surgical staff which I do not have names to acknowledge them but professional and all around awesome. The 4 th floor nurses were just as …

  45. The medical Staff at this hospital really should work on Customer Service. I want to say that it is not all the staff, but the doctor i had the opportunity to deal with should become a vet as he had no bedside manner. Secondly, as i sat in …

  46. I went to the emergency room with severe abdominal pain, severe projectile vomiting of bile, unable to control my bowels. The Dr came in and did not even exam me physically. He stood against the counter asked a couple questions about my …

  47. I drove 30 minutes from my house because the hospital was amazing last time. I had severe back pain and the doctor said, “he didn’t think it was severe enough to treat”. I was going to have to pay $125 to actually be treated. There was NO …

  48. This Hospital has really treated me good every time I’ve gone there. I’m new in the area, but have got health issues, so I go there for testing and blood work often. Been to E.R. and inpatient up stairs. The doctor’s and Nurse’s and staff …

  49. The doctors do not know how to utilize or adjust the ventilators. They just give up on patients because they don’t want to do the work. There are no specialists, a pulmonologist apparently only comes 1 time a week. The ICU is taking in …

  50. We ended up rushing our son to the hospital, we would normally go on Fort Stewart but it was far from our location. So Wayne memorial was our second option. This hospital is amazing, the doctors are knowledgeable and the nurses were …

  51. Went to Wayne Memorial Hospital Emergency Room and was seen right away for lower right abdominal pain. Then the doctor was worried about me having two separate things wrong and so he left and consulted another doctor he knew. They decided …

  52. Thanks to the quick thinking of the team in Radiology. Just may have saved a life. I know we are not going to get it right all the time but this time you did. I thank you for your suggestion to do a CT Scan. Because the outcome may have been different. I pray blessings over your lives. You are the true meaning of servants.

  53. Thanks to this hospital, my father (who has cancer, stage 4) almost died. He had come several times to the ER at this hospital and they sent him home and brushed him off. The next morning, he went to the hospital in Waycross and they said …

  54. Pain from start to finish when they know I have issues. The doctor seemed nice and then it was like I wanted opioids. Real pain ignored…..again……Trust me I wouldn’t be here without a need. When you are already taking tylenol iv …

  55. Awful experience! Waited in the waiting room for hours with my 7 year old in lots of pain with a big shard of glass in her foot. We waited so long we ended up leaving before even seeing a doctor and decided we’d be better off on our own. Never had so a terrible experience anywhere else. Definitely would never return there again

  56. I was wary of coming to this hospital because of the reviews, but every single person I have come into contact with has been fantastic! My nurses Jessica, Tina, Lisa, Kelsi and Hannah and my CNA’s Charlee, Kelsi and Meri – were all amazing …

  58. If I could rate it a 0/5 stars I totally would! We went to the emergency room to see if they could attend my brother right away however, they had us waiting for like 40 mins. My brother was in an immense pain to the point where he was …

  59. My mother has been in the ER for days. She’s supposed to be admitted. The nurses will only let one person out of her two families call. Everyone is worried and wants to talk to her. I hate this hospital for being so dismissive instead of helpful.

  60. This hospital used to be great. It was fairly new, and had great staff. I do not believe that one person can be the spokesperson for the entire hospital, but Krysta Garcia MD sure didn’t help their image. She told my mother (who has …

  61. Definitely wouldn’t recommend giving birth here at all. Thank God my labor & delivery was easy with some good nurses however the care was definitely inadequate. The room was like a prison cell with a prison shower, not even a tub. You’re …

  62. I just gave birth here and had the best experience ! we are first timers and they went above and beyond our expectations. All labor and delivery and nursery staff were amazing. They were very encouraging and helpful and answered all our …

  63. My Mom was in ICU at Wayne Memorial in critical condition. Her ICU nurses Bri and Lindsey as well as Dr Awujo and Dr Kennedy were compassionate and took excellent care of my 91 year old Mom. I would absolutely recommend this hospital for critical and compassionate care. Thank you all so much.

  64. Brought my aunt here at 12:36 with heart attack symptoms. They didn’t ask what was wrong just had her fill out paperwork. We sat for 10 minutes before I got up and said something and the nurse said “he’ll be with you shortly “ I told her “ …

  65. Drive to Savannah. Currently in the ER with spouse. I have multiple autoimmune disorders, am severely immunocompromised, taking immunity reduction medications and nurses and doctors are not wearing masks. I pray my spouse is okay and that I …

  66. If I could give zero stars I would . Came here to test for strep and Covid and had to wait 2 hours for results !!!! When I asked about my results , the nurse seemed agitated that I was asking her . I just waited around 30 more minutes before asking for discharge papers !! Worse experience ever !!!!!

  67. I highly recommend this hospital for labor and delivery. Small and intimate atmosphere. The staff here was amazing and so kind and definitely helped made the entire process more bearable.

  68. My son came to the ER with appendicitis and they worked quickly. And even when we had to wait, the ER staff continued to check on us. The communication and empathy displayed was amazing. They acted quickly and transferred care to Surgery. I …
