Windmoor Healthcare of Clearwater Reviews ( 81 )

  1. This is the best psychiatric hospital around. They provide group therapy, daily psych consult, art therapy, and have fantastic Dr’s, like Dr Butler . Food is good and smoking is allowed. If you dont smoke, you can still go outside to a …

  2. The staff and accommodations are appropriate and suited to individual needs. Inpatient and outpatient treatment, unfortunately their hands are tied due to insurance decisions.

  3. HI MY NAME IS JUDITH NYHART AND I WAS ADMITTED TO WINDMORE ON FEBRUARY 19, 2019. I WAS PLACED ON UNIT 32. ALL THE STAFF ON THIS UNIT WERE SUPER. THEY TREATED ME LIKE GOLD, THEY TOOK CARE OF ME AND MADE ME FEEL SAFE. I WAS RELEASED ON FEBRUARY 23, 2019. THANKS UNIT 32 FOR THE GREAT CARE. I LOVE EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU!!!!

  4. The staff are willingly unhelpful. Makes one wonder why people would trust their loved ones in this facilities care. If you have options look elsewhere. 0 stars.

  5. My son was there for 4 days they gave him some meds and did not give him his regular meds left in a room for 2 days dehydrated and in a coma ambulance was called after 2 days laying in bed no food or drink sent to Northside in bad shape don’t go there

  6. My experience there was good as long as you follow the rules they are there to help you. And they help me . I am free of pain medication I took for over 10 years. Thank you windmoor and their staff.

  7. DO NOT. I REPEAT. DO NOT PUT YOUR LOVE ONE IN THIS PRISON. This is the worst place I have ever seen in my life. Rude, not caregiving at all. They don’t know the word courtesy. JUST STAY AWAY. If I could I would rate the as a minus (-5000).

  8. Was there 1 year ago for alcohol addiction and this place and the employees were exceptional. I have not had a drop to drink in a year and am very proud of myself and the staff for helping me achieve this. It has saved my life .

  9. I just got out today and completed the 28 program! Honestly I was in a dark place before I went there and when I left I feel million times better. Do not go off the negative reviews all the staff was great and doctor butler was nice..its really what you put in you get out !thanks

  11. My son was in here to treat his six year three times a day addiction to Suboxone which had been prescribed to get him off of his addiction to his prescribed narcotics; they stopped him cold turkey which could have been more detrimental to his health causing him seizures and possibly death. SMH.

  12. If you are really in need of help I would sincerely suggest going somewhere else. The staff on Unit 32 is highly inappropriate with the patients (ie, discussing their personal weight loss (103 lbs to be exact), divorce and how they married …

  13. Military 28 day program. This is the absolute best military mental health program there is. The entire staff truly cares about each and every patient. I am happy that I had the opportunity to attend this program.

  14. Some members of the staff are friendly and competent and some aren”t.
Units and rooms are filthy with a strong stench of mildew and mold. The food ( which I rate as pretty good for the industry ) was the best aspect of my stay.

  15. What a poor example and bad reflection on how our system works in this country. A loved one of mine found herself here as a result of telling a friend at work she was having feelings of hopelessness. The police actually came to her work, …

  16. I wish I could give this place a negative star, but it doesn’t allow that, one star is to generous. My fiance checked herself into this facility for alcohol rehabilitation voluntarily. They seriously started to mess with her epilepsy …

  19. My family member self admitted to PEMS. They were transferred here as they are living with bipolar disorder and schizoaffective disorder. The staff failed to effectively communicate with the Psychiatrist that has been treating my family …

  20. Can I give No stars? Do not send your dog here. Dr. Butler is very unprofessional and so are other staff members-NOT ALL. Some of the staff are a bunch of teenagers and act accordingly. If you question them they get offended and call you …

  21. I had the amazing opportunity to complete my internship here. I have to say it was the best experience ever. I learned so much from all the amazing staff of counselors there. They are all very helpful and truly care about the patients wellbeing.

  22. My husband came here (with great insurance) to be admitted for suicidal ideation. The doctor never saw him or spoke to him but somehow determined he was well enough for outpatient treatment. That night he tried to kill himself. We had to …

  24. The treatment that I received here was topnotch. The staff was always friendly and supportive. My treatment was first rate. I can say nothing but good things about them.

  25. Do not work for this facility if you value yourself and hold yourself to a standard. This place shouldn’t even be up and running with the amount of presenting problems and concerns that run within the walls. I have personally actively …

  26. I had a great experience here. Just like everything in life you get what you put in. I stayed my course and followed direction. The only complaint I have is specific things were slow and there is more of a reactive business culture compared …

  29. Simply put, I got a different story from everybody I spoke to. Inpatient, outpatient, it didn’t matter, nobody honored what they said they would do, on the phone or in person (yes, I actually showed up with the patient like they told me …

  30. Gave one star because none isn’t an option. Not a patient there. A good friend is. How do you take someone into a detox unit, and boot them out a few days later. You blow sunshine up their azz about how great the place is, no worries, …

  31. Addendum to my previous post…last week I have completed my last week of IOP (intensive outpatient program) through Windmoor. Highly recommend the program. I have continued to be followed by Dr. Angermier (who is absolutely wonderful – …

  35. I can’t say enough bad about this place. Violence against staff and patients. Very strict rules. Not letting you even keep a cup of water in your room. I was almost given a medicine that would have made me very sick. I could go on and on. …

  36. This is a detox/rehab facility. No, it’s not the Betty Ford Center. But if you want to get clean, the help is there. Looks like most of the reviews are from sourpuss types. I never got bad attitudes from staff, but then, I am respectful and …

  37. Giving one star because of a particular instance that happened at my time here. One of the case managers at here full on yelled at me in front of a therapist and one of my triggers is when people raise their voice; I had specifically …

  41. I had a family member admitted here during a mental health crisis. They did a great job stabilizing my loved one. He was discharged after 5 days, in MUCH better shape mentally. It’s so hard because you just don’t know who to trust during such a vulnerable time. Windmoor took good care of him. Thank you and good luck.

  42. Admissions staff was very nice and answered all the questions and supported us. The only concern I have is that it takes three days for patients to get their clothes toiletries and things that they brought to the facility. I’ve called every …

  44. I cant imagine much worse when you’re in mental crisis. There is bare minimum individualized care. Most of the staff overlooks you, treats you like an animal in a herd than a human being, and is more concerned with their paperwork or …

  45. Excellent care and staff. The PHP and IOP programs are so helpful. This place is much more than 3 stars. Please keep in mind if you are having a life crisis and you get put into a place involuntarily I don’t think the reviews are going to reflect quality of care.

  46. I was a patient twice in your facility the last one being from 10/26/2018 through 11 /01/2018 . Was treated well in the beginning but was put through some uncomfortable treatment almost at the end. Was hit from behind by someone and sent …

  52. I voluntarily admitted myself to detox from alcohol. I was in unit 34 for four days until I discharged myself feeling much better. They gave me Ativan along with other meds for withdrawal symptoms. Other than the uncomfortable beds, it was a pleasant stay. Decent food as well. Special thanks to Greg the tech for all the help.

  53. I did outpatient therapy at Windmoor and I feel extremely blessed that I found windmoor at such a hard time in my life. The therapist truly helped me so so much!

  54. I just want to say thank you. You saved my life this week. All of you. Please keep doing this for people, because you’re the only ones who have ever shown true compassion and given your clients the dignity it takes to feel like hope can exist in the dark, in my opinion of course. You are amazing.

  55. I normally go to Morton plant where they force high doses of drugs on you then leave you in front of the TV until it works. At windmoor they come up with a reasonable plan that can be continued after discharge. …

  56. I spent 28 days in the inpatient addictions program from Feb. 9, 2002 until March 9, 2002. I applied what I learned and have been sober ever since- 20+ years. You do important, life-saving work. Keep it up!

  57. I was here in September and I was put in a unit with more lower-functioning individuals firstly. I witnessed a doctor screaming in the face of a patient who walked up to him simply to ask a question. This was extremely traumatic for me, …

  58. Wow, I am blown away. A worker named Violet was working the front desk when I arrived at the hospital. I began to explain my situation and obviously this made this person mad. She proceeded to call out my exact apt address and told me that …
